lvmono129.jpgLouis Vuitton has created cinema and tv ads for the first time in its history hoping to draw a larger audience to its brand (because you know, the monogram is not over exposed enough). By bringing the LV brand to the screen, Louis Vuitton plans to emphasize its travel heritage and bring in new consumers. Titled "Where will life take you?", the artsy and dreamlike 90 second commercials will only offer fleeting glimpses of the leather goods. Look for the spots starting on both the small screen (select satellite and cable) and big screen as pre-movie commercial Feb. 15 and will run through 2008.

  • Advertising their bags on TV is tres sad. You wouldn't see Hermes advertising their birkins at movie theatres!

  • This makes me really think twice about buying a LV bag.

  • Luxury is not intended for mases, I will probably think twice before the purchase, what a shame I love new styles

  • Because the Birkin is much less known than MC...

I personally like the commercial I think it advertises the luggage that first inspired the brand to be manufactured. In other words, it emphasizes the mobile nature of the brand. Also, just because it's advertised in the movie theaters doesn't mean people who can't afford it are all of a sudden going to be able to. Luxury is still only available to those who can afford Vuitton - regardless of whether they see it on the movie or tv screen...It's all over the place on the backs of magazines that plenty of these "masses" see when they're buying their daily groceries.

Common now, stop hatting on Vuitton - It's classic, get over it.
