LAI Python Messenger/Computer Bag

I am not a messenger bag type of girl (actually, have never even owned one!) but I am sick of lugging my laptop in my Hermes birkins, they are not designed for laptop storage so mine gets banged up quite often. I have a computer bag from Barneys which I like but it is quite heavy and cumbersome to travel with. Needless to say, I have been on the hunt for a sleek and lightweight bag that would fit my laptop snugly and as usual, ask and I shall receive. Check out the LAI python messenger bag from our dear friend Sari's chic bag boutique, Lux Couture, it may just be the answer to my woes! You guys know I am a python fiend so what better way to tote around my sacred Sony Vaio than a sleek reptile bag? (It just crashed this weekend by the way, so any of you who have been trying to contact me and have not received a response, it is because I am working from an old PC that does not have my Snob mail accounts set up) It is 12x12 so it will hold my laptop snugly but is still a manageable size for me, I am not into slinging bags around my body (unless I am traveling with my son and need both hands free) so the adjustable strap means I can carry it like a briefcase. I just need to have an actual working computer before I can justify a computer bag but those of you who have been looking for a luxe bag to tote your laptop in, look no further. $1,450 at LuxCouture.com

  • Sure,a perfect bag for a laptop. But the price is too much. I would not mind carrying mine in one of the bags I already have. When my children were small and two hands were not enough,I simply put the childrens needs before mine. Any bag was ok and at that time there were no laptops.I think this bag business is somehow reaching out of hands.I have asked before and will ask again. Why the heck do we have to have a bag for every single event? I only have 6 and I´m totally satisfied and I could do with less, but then again I live in a country that has 4 very different seasons.

  • If you're planning on getting a new computer, I'd totally suggest a MacBook. They're light enough that I've carried mine in a handbag several times. Plus, they're so sleek and shiny! :)

  • That bag is perfect for me since I commute by train to Manhattan. I absolutely love it. Patent is really making waves these days. Nice pick!

  • @mette whats the point of asking whats the point? This is a bag praise website. Therefore the people here enjoy bags. Its our thing. One could ask what's the point of you having 6 bags? or anybag at all. Some people like jewelry , some shoes, some cosmetics, some bags. Some everything! Its all personal . I own over 900 designer bags that range from $500-$20,000. Expensive is in the eye of the buyer not the looker. Happy New YEAR

  • Mette , too much for who ? under 2k for python is a nice price .

  • normally i would agree with mette. there comes a point when it's just too much (like 900 bags ranging from $500-$20,000). however, this bag is really cute and $1,450 is basically free for a PYTHON messenger!

  • o yeah, i forgot to mention that ysl makes a really cute downtown computer bag for $1,795. thought you might be interested tina. and if you're having laptop troubles, may i suggest the lenovo thinkpad reserve edition. the company will dispatch a technician by plane if necessary. plus only 5,000 are being made...i know how much you love limited editions! it's $4,995.

  • James- I just checked out the Lenovo notebook limited edition with Executive class service- it's amazing! But Windows Vista is the bane of my existence- and the reason I think my computer keeps crashing. I wonder if they will offer it in Windows xp.

By the way, you are so knowledgeable for a young man of 21 years still in univ. Am interested in seeing what direction you take after graduation. Please keep us posted!

  • To An, with the 900 designer bags-well,no comments. Indeed, this is a forum where people who love bags can express their thoughts and feelings. To ME,no the price is not so bad for python, but too high for a laptop case. For a multipurpose bag I could scratch that money but not for a laptop case.

  • @ James . Its not up to you or any one else to decide what is too much of anything for anyone. Because we are all not the same . You have no idea what my lifestlye is like or who I am or what my budget for "stuff I like is" . One could say 5k is way TOOO much for a computer . I dont think it is. But many people do.

@ Mette I am not angry at you as I am sure you are not angry at me. But like I said before everything is relative to the person. That includes prices and qtys. I don't drink 900 cups of pricey latte a year but some people do. And its great that you have 'no comment' Why should you comment on a person and a lifestlye that is not your own ?. That would be silly and you would be considered a Hater No?

  • i'm feeling a strong urge to go read walden again...

  • kamo, i love you.

  • @anonymous - as soon as you post something on a blog, it becomes open for discussion. if you don't want me or anyone else to respond to your comments, then you should probably keep your thoughts to yourself. btw, my opinion hasn't changed. regardless of your budget, owning 900 of anything is absurd. i'd rather have the $148,000 diamond croc birkin than 900 mediocre bags. but as you said, we are different people.

  • LOL, kamo- you are so funny!

Okay guys- I have been watching from the sidelines but let's keep this friendly.

And the person who owns 900 bags should share the photos with us.

    xo

  • @James to use the word "mediocre" when referring to my bag collection is absurd. All of my bags are top notch. Including the $500 steal !
I have no problems with people who have comments , just as long as they are educated. I don't like when people whom don't live in my world make comments on it. In (my part of ) NYC having closets of couture and bags from floor tip to top ,are all ways the girls and I express ourselves. Your op holds no weight , And from the 100k silly birkin comment , it shows that If you had the dough you would prob spend more than I do LMAO . And Bag snob Tina I have no problems showing all of the bags in the beautiful museum like display. I enjoy them all. From A Knight to Hermes I love them all. Bag snobs Keep introducing new bags and new designers. Because crazy gals like me are the ones who keep the HIGHEND independents in business.

Pam aka Anon when I am too lazy to type my whole name and signature. !

    I LOVE THIS SITE !

  • Sorry for the double post guys! but the thought of a person calling my hard earned collection 'medio' got my hands all crazy. Oh and how I would love to post photos. But naysayers are not worthy of the view. Its true what they say . People only admire those whom they feel they are better than or on the same level as. But they hate the one that is on a WHOLE OTHER NOTHER level.

I know how you guys must feel when people hate on your media coverage that you work so hard for ;) . I wish all of your snob sites a happy new year and a great 2008. I'll be working on reaching the 1,000 bag mark for 2008 !! Keep the post coming !

  • hahaha...i knew calling your bags mediocre was going piss you off. it's funny how worked up you get over your bags. and the fact is if i had your money, i WOULD spend more than you on bags, i just wouldn't have as many. that's exactly the point i was trying to make with that example. in conclusion, i don't see anything wrong with people buying whatever they want with THEIR money, so keep spending. stay sexy in the city! ;)

p.s. please do share your collection. it sounds fabulous!
