Fendi Patchwork Tote
By Bag Snob Tina
January 17, 2008

Whoaaah!!! This is like a gory horror movie scene for bag lovers. A patchwork of dead animals arranged in a assailing swirl of repulsion. I keep getting emails about the Fendi bag assault this season but this has to be the absolute worst thing ever. Like, of all seasons that ever were. I am disturbed by the hairy patches of ponyhair that is arbitrarily shrewn about along with the big and small always tacky double F canvas. I am really baffled by the obsession with patchwork, even Hermes has a patchwork bag which we are not happy about. I go to the mall and all I see are people with patchwork Coach bags in every size and design variation. I cannot believe, or I am unwilling to believe, that this look is attractive to people. That just is beyond my comprehension. And I can’t even make excuses for those who just have to buy whatever bags they can afford when Hermes, Fendi, LV, etc. are making (and selling quickly) patchwork clutter f$#% eyesores. Seriously, vomit is more attractive than this. At Net-A-Porter for $1860.

Fendi and Louis Vuitton should not be allowed to make handbags anymore! The world has enough horrors without them adding to it.

These are like the head cheese of handbags (a mashup of purse by-products), and not in a good way!

Why do so many designers have such a sick fascination with patchwork? Is it like a spring cleaning thing? To get rid of the left over scraps from the previous season? Please! Fendi bags are getting worse and worse and the last few have been really gross. What in God’s name would make anyone think consumers would want a bag made of little pieces of 12 crappy bags?

Thank You. Thank You. Thank you. For making me realize I am not alone in my disgust of patchwork bags. This Fendi bag is completely offensive. It reminds me of the poachers in Africa who slaughter animals illegally just to sell their parts! Ugh!

I’ve always detested patchwork bags, but this really rips it for me. It’s like someone was desperate to use the leftover scraps from last season.

To add insult to injury, they want nearly 2 grand for the thing. The idea.

leaving aside whether patchwork is a worthy style per se, that bag looks like it was constructed in the dark by a drunk monkey.
