The fascination and wonder with clutches continue for Spring and not only are we seeing variances in size, the shapes and function are getting creative and is causing my clutch budget to expand. With a basic clutch, how many can you really own? You get a few in different colors and materials, but the variety was inhibitive of continual purchasing. No longer true, although my husband would argue that variety is not what is inhibitive of continual buying. Now there are convertible clutches, ones that become totes (Jalda Bean Clutch), super giant clutches with room to function like an everyday bag (Carlos Falchi), and foldover clutches like this from Devi Kroell in ostrich and python. I don’t have a clutch like this, so it is easy to justify getting it. And in ostrich and python, well, I personally believe in only having clutches in exotic. You need big bang in a small package so what better way to go than exotic? There is so much interest in the texture (especially ostrich, my fave), the color has natural tonal differences and well, I don’t need to go on and on about why exotics are so great, we all know the skin itself is just beautiful. The ostrich and python compliment and contrast each other so it is even more exciting, extravagant and fabulous! And clutches are small so the prices usually follow suit – you get an exotic, save some money, have a great bag, all without compromising a single thing. It’s a win win win. I love this Devi Kroell frame clutch, it is classic, elegant, functional and girly fun in the rose. I would use this for casual affairs but this could definitely dress up and go to black ties with you. Most date nights for me are low key and it’s my chance to pack light so I always use a clutch, this is exactly what I need for those nights. Such a great value at $1,990 for the small and $2290 for the larger version (which also comes in red patent leather for $1390). Available for Spring at Devi Kroell and Saks Fifth Avenue.

i dunno kelly…i love exotic skins as much as the next girl (well guy in my case), but ostrich and python together?!?
I fancy python too. Somehow this clutch lacks spirit, actually it only looks like a purse. Not a good investment in my opinion.
It looks like a classic to me. I like it.
I can feel my heart fluttering as I look at this beautiful clutch. Although I’m wondering what it would like with stuff inside and how functional it is.
Hmm. I like the shade of pink but am undecided on the juxtaposed ostrich and python, though I like both individually. I’m just not sure that this can be pulled off without looking clownish.
There appears to be very little interior space (if the pic is of the small version) when you consider how much has to flip over in order to maintain its look. And when I visualize the usual contents in there (cell, cash, cards, lipstick, compact, keys), the bottom portion will be awkwardly bulky while the flap portion will be empty and deflated. It would look unbalanced, lumpy and not at all graceful, which would defy the whole purpose of an elegant exotic clutch. Just my 2 cents.
Sang A has some fabulous exotic clutches that far eclipse this!
Now THIS makes up for those Dior and Vuitton monstrosities I had to scroll past to get here! What’s not to love about the shape, textures, and especially the color?
I love the color and the ostrich-python combination is refreshing. Never thought chic and exotic can go well together.
Does anyone know the measurements of this clutch or where to find the measurements?
