I have had my eye on this lovely dress all season but never got around to ordering it so when I saw that it is 40% off with my size still available I immediately hit "BUY"! I love it when a dress that I would have gladly paid full price goes on sale, it's like the fashion stars and planets are all aligned for me! Was $2,340, now $1,404.
Bottega Veneta Cashmere blend dress
I also attended the Bottega Spring Trunk show today and was dazzled by the array of gorgeous bags this season! I will have lots of photos to show you next week but in the meantime, guess what is on sale. My favorite bag of the Fall season, that I purchased full price over the summer! The Anaconda Lucida Lux is now 30% off! Call Jasenka at Bottega for more details 214-265-0136.

words cannot describe how stunning this bag is. definitely one that you can pass down to future generations. i'd rather have this than a leather birkin anyday.
James, you have impeccable taste. I grabbed this bag last summer because I felt the same. It is so yummy in person, you have no idea! The straps are adjustable so you can use it different ways. I have been carrying it all week and just love it! The anaconda scales are so nice and soft, does not curl like python...

Tina,
I am in the market for a new bag. My problem is I don't know whether I should buy a large bag, as is the trend currently, or look for something less huge? What are you thoughts? Is the bigger is better trend leveling out, or do you think this is a trend we'll see throughout 2008? I don't want to spend good money on a bad trend!
Michelle,
The "Big bag" trend is staying for now. However, in the long run- it will be remembered as ridiculous. I am not a fan and think that women should carry bags according to their own style and size. Good taste will always outclass trendiness.
You should pick a bag based on personal taste and your size. Most women will be able to carry off bags 12-14" wide. Anything over 15" you should be at least 5'5" tall.
If you only invest in one good bag per season, do not follow trends! Pick something classic with an element that translates to the season's trends. For example, exotic is a trend but in a classic shape, it will be both elegant and fashionable!
And really, do you want to end up at the chiropractor's office each week just so you can be trendy?

The Gucci Group (PPR) has done a Fab job saving the Bottega Veneta brand. That bag above is true BEAUTY. Its like ever since Robert Polet became head of the group in 2004 and kicked Ford and De Sole to the curb, all of the brands have been doing well. Bottega, YSL and so on. Now lets see if they can save the name sake GUCCI!. because that brand has been hurting in the hand bag department.
The New trend is Get what you like and who cares what "others" say . LMAO . Thats the new 2008 trend. It seems as if people dont know what they like anymore. And thats a trend that needs to be put out with the trash.
I love this site because it showcases great bags . But at the end of the day my money is spent on what I like . Not what vogue, bazzar , ronnie, bobby, rickii and mike like. Everyone should adopt that same mindset. If you like it you buy it , if you dont like it you dont buy it.! :)
Lets hope Francois Pinault the now CEO of the Gucci Group (PPR) can keep the goodness that Robert Polet started. :) . No more GGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGs all over everything would be a nice start ! .
Hi all, first time commenting here. Love the site! Love this bag! It's such a gorgeous classic but in a very of the moment color.
Tina- that dress is fab, I went on the site to buy it and it is now sold out :( Next time I will buy the minute you recommend! You are the bomb!
Maier is on page 236 of the new Bazzar mag and he is ttalking about how he designs bottega v and how simple and haute the brand is. LOGO free. !
Hi Tina
I have not posted comments lately as I am so tied up at work that I have only enough time to stop by to read your entries and off I go again.
I am a huge BV fan as well (Hermes and Chanel too). Been meaning to ask what is your take on BV's Cabat? I fully appreciate the workmanship that goes behind the bag. But strangely I seemed to love it on others but not myself.
