Christmas stresses me out, I have so much to do and can no longer enjoy it because I am not a kid with a wish list of presents that magically appear under the tree each year. Now I am one of the adults that have to make it happen. I like to buy gifts throughout the year for friends when I come across something they will really like. I know I can hold on to these things until Christmas time but usually by then I will have used it or it's out of season so I have a solution- I'd like to propose making each First Friday of the month an optional Christmas. That way if we see something cute throughout the year, we can send it to our friends/family and not worry about keeping it in the back of our closet until December. It's optional so your friends and family will always be surprised when they receive it as they never know if Christmas will show up in March or December! I quite like this idea!
What, no good? But you won't make mistakes and purchase at random because it's Christmas Eve and the mall is about to close! Like this Roger Vivier bag- clearly anyone in their right minds would never purchase it unless they were standing in a Roger Vivier store and it is 5pm on Christmas Eve and there is no other option. I was actually shocked to find out this is from Vivier, I thought it was Gucci or Versace at first (whom I expect to make heinous furry bags) but Vivier? The King of the simple Pilgrim buckle flats? Of course the house is now under the reign of Bruno Frisoni (I have never been a fan), which may explain my annoyance at this bag. And what would you do if this was given to you for Christmas? How can you even manage to look happy and pleased with something so hideous? I guess you can say "Oh, thank you so much for this new pet! I will take it for walks twice a day and show it off proudly. Look, it's even got a cool leash with patent leather details!" Anyway, I am rambling, please excuse me as I have had a very long and tiring day shopping with a million other people looking for the 'perfect' gift. Sorry if you love Christmas but if you agree with me- let me know! Maybe we can write to the North Pole and lobby for a monthly optional Christmas. I know Neiman Marcus would be up for it.

It would look good hanging from the front of a Scotsman's kilt.
