Giorgio Brata Extra Large Tote

This distinctly resembles the YSL Downtown with the front zipper pocket like that but this is a great Cheap Thrills purchase if you love that look. LuxCouture is having their annual blowout sale and this Giorgio Brato is now only $475 (originally $950). It even has the trapezoid shape of the Downtown and at a fraction of the price you can live with a bag that has been positively influenced by another designer (it is not at all a knock off since the details are so subtle and general). It does have a longer handle drop so in that regard, it is actually better. I have a hard time with my Downtown when wearing a coat or heavy sweater. And I have the larger version so it is super heavy!! The leather is really nice thick quality but I could do without the added weight. This bag is much lighter, so you are saving 3 very important things with this bag - your bank account, your temper and your back!! Sheeesh, if I could just keep those 3 things in check I would have that mythical perfect life. Wow, an eureka moment!! Once again we unearth another valuable facet to bag obsession, self reflection brought on by the deep analysis of a bag.

you should be ashamed bagsnob kelly. advertising "inspired by" bags. you also said that the real ysl is cumbersome and annoying, so then WHY did you buy it? i thought you always put practicality first!
please do not ever post a bag like this again.

  • ugh-hate all these lookalikes. If you fancy a real YSL-buy it. If you don´t like the price-please don´t buy a copy.Actually the real Downtown is not heavy at all. It is the stuff you carry in it that makes it feel heavy and do you need all that? All that I carry along daily is my wallet,Nokia cell phone and a large ,wrapped Longchaps bag that puffies my YSL and is handy when needed.

  • I totally agree with the previous two comments. This is a really sad-looking bag, copy or not, and copy it is. There is no denying. I love YSL though, and it is nice to read your posts on the real stuff.

  • I think it is so that when you reach level 3 of bagsnobbery, you have the right to write things like that.

  • I don't like the idea of inspired bags at all. Enough said.
