Tod's Snakeskin Zipper Clutch

Can you believe this is a Tod's bag? It is from their Cruise 2008 collection set to deliver for January/February. How very unique and radical of them to be so adventurous, it is such a huge departure from their classic and conservative line that we've come to rely on and predict. I guess that is why I really love this little clutch, it shows forward movement without compromising what I've come to love about them as an avid fan. For any designer to stay in the game, they have to do something different, I mean Chanel makes gross horrendous bags here and there for editorial but every season we see new, exciting and steal your heart 2.55's that we all keep buying and collecting. But this bag certainly is nothing earth shattering, it is just something that people, like me, will pick up and notice and keep in mind that the design room has not become robotic in cranking out the same ole same ole in different colors and materials to appease the choir. The snake and turquoise is of course super trendy and hot right now but the zippers on the basic frame clutch is in the direction of new designers like Pauric Sweeney that we have come to adore. It is fresh and fun and I hope Tod's keeps my collection of their bags updated with seasonal pieces to keep me consumed in my love for them. It is $1350, to pre-order call them at 212.644.5945. There is a limited quantity and is only available through the 650 Madison Ave boutique in NYC.

  • Oh my, you gotta love Tod's, what a fabulous color to take to St. Barts this holiday!

  • Whoa. *That* is a bag that could stop someone in her (or his, sometimes) tracks.

I'm very impressed by the design--the chain lengths seem to be designed that any one zipper could be opened indepentently of the others. Very clever!

  • wow this is certainly un-Tod's like but I'm not a fan of all those zippers in the front. I do love the color & snakeskin though.

  • I don´t like this at all.The color is just awful.Silly to put so many zippers on a tiny bag.
