I thought it fitting to feature Roger Vivier's latest from the "Pilgrim" line (named for the pilgrim inspired square buckle) of bags on Thanksgiving. I bet the Pilgrims had no idea they would be such a source of fashion inspiration when they stepped off the Mayflower on Plymouth rock! The "Pilgrim de Luxe" is a fusion of old world glamour with modern technology. Gold brocade fabric may be more suitable for your mother or grandmother but gold brocade leather? Now that's pure modern decadence fit for any age! I really like the latest innovations in textiles and leather; fabric jackets are made to look and feel like leather (like Chanel's distressed version from 3 seasons ago) and leather is made to resemble fabric. It is quite imaginative and offers consumers an altered way of looking at things.

i really wanted to hate this when i first saw the picture. it conjured up memories of grandma's curtains and i was concerned about the oils from your fingers damaging the fabric. BUT it's leather...how fabulous! perfect for the holidays. throw this clutch on with that little black, red, green, or blue dress and you'll be the belle of the ball. i like the Asian inspired print. it reminds me of a mimi fong tie i just picked up. and the gold leather looks exactly like a gucci agenda i snatched up a couple of years ago. obviously this is my style. I LOVE IT!!!
p.s. judith leiber should take notes from roger vivier. this is how you embellish!
hi, first time here and have to tellyou I love this. I agree with James, at first I thought, brocade? but leather brocade is both interesting and innovative.
This is definitely not for me. I simply don´t have the right clothes to wear it with. To me this is a bit too old-fashioned,don´t like the idea of leather that looks like fabric and the other way around either.
Leather made to look like gold brocade? How in the world did they do that???!
I find this classic and beautiful. Perhaps not something I would use now but it is something to aspire to.
It's exquisite. Love it. Love it. Love it.
