Admittedly this looks very much like a classic Marc Jacobs but I just love a good ‘ole tote that is simple, elegant and practical. The one thing that makes this better than any MJ is that this is Nappa leather so it is way lighter (one one huge gripe about MJ bags, the weight!!). There is not a lot of hardware and all the details are in the stitching and leather, love that! You would think doing subtle is easier but it is sooo much harder, same with acting subtle which I am still working on (apparently my idea of being subtle is considered Frankensteinish by everyone I know). It is nice and big at 14″W X 13.75″H but not so big that you look ridiculous. Everyone needs a good tote for running around and once a year you should invest in a new one because it is the bag that gets the most beating. I love this off white but you do have to be careful if you intend on throwing it in and out of cars, cabs, subways, buses and gym locker (or like me, falling out of the car onto asphalt, I totally scratched my new metallic YSL doing that. Once upon a time a Prada bag really meant something. Years ago there was this `saddle´bag, I -being a horse woman-was dreaming about. Actually I have never seen it,could someone tell me where I could find a picture of it? Well.since those days the charm of Prada has faded for me. The bag you are now showing doesn´t raise my eyebrows. Once again I have to say that I wouldn´t take it even handed it me free. You can call me a snob,but I require a bit more from the bags I would consider to buy.
This is cute and I can definitely see the appeal but here is a question, why are Miu Miu bags priced so high now? It was the trendy younger sibling of the Prada brand but its bags are now at par with Prada?
Handbag prices are beyond ridiculous, invest in Chanel or Hermes ladies and you won’t go wrong.

Mette, not sure if the saddle bag you are speaking of was the Dior one. My husband bought one for me when they first came out a few years back, it was my favorite for a very long time. I think they still make them.
The new MJ bags (for resort) have different leather. They changed it to a super light weight calfskin. The bags now weigh an 1/8 of what they used to. They come in a ton of colors but Saks only has black and white. Check out the link:

Dear Lori: I´m sure it was not a Chanel bag,the `saddle´bag I mean´t. Definitely it was Prada´s and it nust be about 10 years ago when it was launched. I remember reading frpm somewhere that it was a great hit of that era. Accidentally I caught a glimpse of it about a year ago. Hi – I sent this post earlier when I was having trouble with my computer and it did not show. So I am typing it again, just because this bag is too cute to pass up.
So have you guys seen the new MJ bags? The colors are beautiful and there is no outside logo. They are 1/8 the weight of the old ones because he now uses really soft and lift calfskin. I got this one.
