Alexis Hudson Bags

StTropez_Large.jpg

I was at Neiman Marcus today hunting down a pair of Burberry quilted riding boots that I have been obsessing over for 3 days (I decided I could not sleep another night without getting them!) and got distracted by a stunning clutch by Alexis Hudson. The modern and fresh square shape with unique clasp was gorgeous but it was the skin that got my attention. The snakeskin was dyed in varying shades of gray with metallic just at the tips of the scales making it less flashy. Complemented by the glittery oval clasp, it was delightfully chic! I played around with it and almost bought it but the shoe salesperson re-appeared and I reminded myself of my mission of the day, my boots! (Which are beyond divine by the way, I have not been this excited over a pair of shoes since my Fox Trot Louboutins!) Before depositing the clutch back to its place on the shelf however, I made note of the designer "Alexis Hudson" so that I could do further sleuthing at home. The name was familiar but I couldn't place it. Once I got home however, I realized I have seen the line in different publications and on the arms of celebs such as Terry Hatcher and Jessica Biel, this is one of the hottest bag lines of Hollywood right now! The St. Tropez Clutch in snakeskin is $420 but the patent leather version above is only $275. You must head to Neiman Marcus right now to see the line for yourself. Or check out the collection online at Alexis Hudson's website.

Madeline_Large.jpgThe Madeline is another bag to drool over, the pinot version in embossed snakeskin is stunning with the gunmetal hardware. I just love the vintage feel to this bag, I actually have a vintage bag from the '70s that looks almost identical to this one! The roomy body makes it functional for daily use but the frame with sparkling buckle gives it just a touch of glam. Fabulous right? You'll also love the price- $780 for the snakeskin, $625 for leather version.

MadelineClutch_Large.jpgIf the mod shape of the St. Tropez is not your thing, the feminine and flirty Madeline clutch should do it for you. I like clutches with a bit of pleating because it gives you more room in the interior. I am not in to stamped croco but for our younger bag snobs, this is a great way to get the look without sacrificing this semester's college tuition! It also comes in leather for $295.

Napoleon_Large.jpg
The Napoleon is the sibling to the St. Tropez, the same fab shape with a chunky chain added on. We also love the shoulder strap added for comfort and security. The leather version is $375 and the croco $450. Is this the cheap thrill of the week or what?!?!?

At Neiman Marcus, Henri Bendel, Fred Segal or check Alexis Hudson's website for store locations near you!
