Thomas Wylde Barolo Skull Clutch

Halloween is the ugliest holiday. There is no need to decorate your house with spider webs and dead people, it is absolutely disgusting. I saw Martha Stewart today making glitter bones and skulls and she was like, "Isn't this pretty?". Uhhhh, NO!! I don't care if you encrust diamonds on bones and skulls, it will be a waste of diamonds and most definitely not pretty! And that is how I feel about this clutch. I know the Thomas Wylde line is all about the skulls but a giant bad Halloween decorative skull on a clutch is totally uncute and not uncute in a "cool" way either, it is just bad. This skull is totally scary looking and combined with the cracked distressed bronze leather, it just creeps me out. And this is not a small clutch, it is 12.5" x 10" so that skull is at least 2 inches! I guess it is very pirate themed which is popular with the kids, but I don't know any grown woman who would think this is cute or fashionable. But Happy Halloween everyone! At Net a Porter for $1495.

  • I agree! this is so NOT cute! I like cute little scarecrows and pumpkins for halloween but not skull and bones!!!
    martha stewart is an idiot.

  • You wuss, Kelly! :P Something about the shape and embellishment of the skull reminds me more of the Mexican festival of death/traditional death masks than captain jack sparrow and unoriginally tattoed bikers - therefore, I like it. In fact, if skulls weren't a ridiculous trend with the 'kids' nowadays, I'd buy it. But then, I'm still a young twentysomething and hardly a grown woman!!

  • ooh, just read the dimensions - ok, maybe not. but if it were, say, half that size - cute as!

  • Ewwww, I hate it--it's sick.

  • hmm... i wouldn't want to have anything to do with skulls and anything morbid either. perhaps our culture does not take kindly to that stuff because those things are like a curse or a jinx.

  • yuck, barf, poopy!!!

  • AMEN!!! I never understood the appeal of bones and skulls at all. And as for Halloween, when i was a little girl i was always a rincess or a butterfly fairy princess or the like. There's enough ugliness in the world already. No need to add to it.

  • There's nothing ugly or immature about skulls! It's perfectly natural and quite a dramatic symbol. I prefer to have something symbolizing a human skull on my bag than a ridiculous rather ugly croc skin.

No one who loves skins on bags can say that a metal skull is ugly and morbid.

  • The color's sick in a good way, but the skull looks as though it's about to become animate and start singing,"yo ho yo ho a pirate's life for me." He needs an eye patch.

  • Love it and obsessed w/ Mcqueen
even though I loathed skulls because of hot topic b4

  • you've got to be kidding. this bag is gorgeous.

  • my friend has this clutch, its amazing it mixes classic chique with a little tongue and cheek and on track goth glamour!! You can always point it out and goes with practically anyhting!!! I love it. Waiting for her to get bored of it !!
