Carlos Falchi Oversized Alligator Clutch

Yeah, they weren’t kidding by “oversized”, this thing is ridiculously huge!! But such is the trend these days and the fact that it is alligator just makes it all the more ostentatious. I have trouble with the practicality of carrying around such a giant clutch, I mean, I have a hard enough time with a normal size clutch because it requires me to dedicate an entire arm and hand to transporting it around, so one as big as this would require both arms and hands (as seen in the picture with the model)? This is not a cocktail party clutch, you will knock over the hors d’oeuvres tray and spill your martini for sure. So when do you use it? During the day? You lug this thing around with all your papers in it and it gets so heavy you have to cradle it both arms like a baby?!!? Is that chic and fancy? OK, size aside, I do like this clutch with the ruffled detail using the tail. The use of the large and small scale to create texture and interest is note worthy. It is also a limited edition of 10 exclusively at Bergdorf Goodman and each is numbered and signed by the designer. Kinda cool but not cool enough to make me want to look like a fool carrying this thing around. $7500 and takes 8 weeks to deliver because they are made to order (but if it’s limited edition, why not just make the 10 up front? Or perhaps in the back of their mind they don’t think even 10 people will buy this??) You can order through Bergdorf Goodman.

Nice clutch, but it looks to be about the size of a toddler.

I prefer a clutch to be large rather than small-but not THIS large.Been thinking about this bag and don´t understand where and how this one could possibly be worn.I think this is a waist of good material, don´t like the tail at all.The color is ok.The only good thing about this all is that they didn´t make the 10 copies ready. That would have been an even greater waist of the good material.

as a woman who likes to carry loads of junk in her handbags, this would only influence that.

i can see it now, Jahpson catches Hernia carrying oversized Clutch!!

then i’ll regret forking over $7500 for a clutch when i really need it for the medical bills!!

    pass!!!

    This clutch is INCREDIBLE!!!

I was lucky enough to have my amazing husband purchase this bag for me from Bergdorfs.

I have been a HUGE fan of Carlos Falchi since the 80′s! I love the fact that my grandma, mom, daughter, and myself all own gorgeous pieces by Carlos Falchi.

The fact that this clutch has been personally signed by him makes the bags value even higher.

I noticed the comments about B. Romanek? CF did this style before B.Romanek was even born!!

I agree with Martin! That particular detail won Carlos the COTY award in 1983 – Linda – Romanek copied him get your fashion facts straight!
