Annie Churchill: Beauty and the City

What does Actress/Philanthropist/Designer and Environmental Activist Annie Churchill have in common with Carrie Bradshaw? No, they are not both dating “Big” but they will be sharing screen time in the much anticipated movie edition of “Sex and The City” next Spring! Annie and I met through a mutual close friend (darling Gigi who has introduced me to all of New York!) at a luncheon over the summer and caught up again over Fashion Week. Charming and sweet, Annie is a busy girl with many things on her plate. In addition to filming “Sex and the City” this week and designing her line of shirts, she has been tapped to consult for designer Douglas Hannant and will be working as his muse.

annie2pic.jpgAs if all that is not enough to keep the New York native busy, she has also formed an environmental agency with three friends (Anthony Cummings, Billy Gilbane and Amanda Hearst). The purpose of the agency is to help promote more green buiding in the city as well as teaching existing buildings how to become green to make New York city more environmentally sound. Named “New Yorkers for a Green New York” NYGNY, the agency will be introduced at a launch party in Chicago this November during the environmental summit. A canvas grocery tote is also in the works to discourage the use of plastic bags. Despite her hectic philanthropic and design work, Annie says she will always continue to act! In addition to her role on “Sex and the City”, Annie may be seen in the new Jodie Foster Movie, “The Brave One”.

While we all wait for the release of the SATC movie, I thought it would be fun to introduce our readers around the world to Annie and take a peek into her busy life:

anniemuse.jpgBag Snob: Tell our readers a bit about your background.

Annie Churchill: I grew up in New York City and Muttontown, Long Island. I went to Middlesex Boarding School (Steve Carrell and William Hurt went too!) and then to Rollins College in Winter Park.

Bag Snob: What bag are you carrying today and what is in it?

Annie: I have a new chocolate brown Yves Saint Laurent  Muse. I always carry my blackberry curve, ipod, wallet, lipgloss, mints, sunglasses, etc.annieuptown.jpg

Bag Snob: Your All Time Favorite bag?

Annie: My favorite bag is my new black patent leather YSL Uptown-it is timeless and so chic for the Fall.

Bag Snob: Style icons?

Annie: Audrey Hepburn and Kate Moss-that’s all you need!

kmoss.jpgBag Snob: What is your favorite time of day and why?

Annie: I love the morning when I can sleep in but my favorite time of day is

late-I love anywhere between 8pm and Midnight-I’m a total nightowl.

Bag Snob: What is your morning routine like?

Annie: Sleep, sleep, sleep and then walk the dog, coffee (a must), then to the

gym.

Bag Snob: What was the last movie you saw?

Annie: I just saw Knocked up, it was such a fun movie!

Bag Snob: When did you last laugh?

Annie: This morning, I was dealing with people who take things too seriously in NYC, sometimes you just have to laugh it off. I work in fashion and entertainment-we’re not brain surgeons!

Bag Snob: Must have beauty product

Annie: Creme de la Mer-it just does what I want it to.annielamer.jpg

Bag Snob: Favorite Getaway?

Annie: Sounds cheesy but I love Hawaii!

Bag Snob:Lastly, are you a ballet flat girl or high heel vixen?

Annie: Both! Flats for day, heels for night-Louboutin’s are my favorite.

What part does she play? Can’t wait to see the movie. Great interview, I have seen her photos in the social pages before and always wondered who she was.

She looks so familiar to me, is she in other films? The environmental agency sounds like a great idea. Very pretty girl!

It’s almost scary how I would have answered every single question in the same exact way! She may just be my identical twin :)

Hey Bagsnobs, I appreciate the thought behind putting foreign language translation software links below your articles, but the technology just isn’t there yet. I tried both the Chinese and the Japanese translations on several articles and the results are good for a laugh, nothing more. Sentences usually come out nonsensible, if not offensive!

I met her at a party with her ex-husband. She is very sweet. Had no idea she is an actress though.
