Alexander McQueen Spring 2008

This is my favorite bag from the Paris runways for Spring 2008! As expected, exotic skin continues strong as does the big bag but this one is not just another big ol' crocodile bag, it's a big ol' crocodile bag from the original bad boy himself, Alexander McQueen! This is one serious bag with McQueen attitude all over it, notice how the placement of contrasting scales are used to show off the beauty of croc skin, pure genius. I love the pale gray shade of the croc but it's the overall design of the bag that I am enamored with. Everything about this bag works, it's as if all the stars were aligned when it was designed! The large outer pocket is in perfect sync with all the small subtle details (a little pocket here, a small zippered compartment there) that make up this fabulous bag and is balanced by the two contrasting upper corners. Plus the zipper goes around the entire upper half of the bag so you will actually be able to see your things inside the bag! Yes, it's beyond huge and made for giants (or for weekend getaways) but I expect they will offer more human friendly sizes come Spring. More grown up and polished than the Novak bag, this is on top of my must have list for Spring 2008- look for it in leather versions as well!

  • Wow, this is one serious bag! love McQueen

  • This bag looks like fun.I too like the pale grey croc.I think this would best suit a tall girl or woman cause it is a big bag. There are lots of details but somehow they look ok. Although it´s croc it has this casual look I seek in bags.Unfortunately so few bags fill this criteria .

  • That is a totally gorgeous bag - the texture, design, color are perfect - but it's way too big for my 5'2" frame. It even looks huge on the 6 foot model.

  • This bag is absolutely DIVINE!!!!

  • Amazing bag, a bit big but amazing!

  • Delicious!!!!

  • Does anyone know a price on this bag?

  • Holy Croc-cola this bag is bad to the bone......

  • It harbors a small hint of the Novak.

Do you think the handle can support the weight of the bag if you put a lot of stuff in it?

  • wow, an incredibly well crafted and designed bag! stunning. you have exqusite taste, I bet we'll see this in vogue 6 months from now!

  • Call the chiropractor and save the crocodile! It must be a case of the emperor's new clothes. Little straps, huge bag, ridiculous; unless there's nothing more inside than the paper that stuffs it prior to purchase. Walking around NYC with that bag I'd have to change sides twice in a block or end up crippled. I so prefer the other ridiculous extreme...the clutch. Less to feel guilty about all the way around!

  • I love the texture and color of this bag, but the proportions look all wrong! I can only imagine juggling this bag, my coat and a cup of coffee!

  • Thanks for the advice tina i got the medium novak biker shoulder bag in black leather
