This shimmering metallic silver bag caught my eye while I was browsing around, something about the simplicity of design but brilliance of color and size greatly appealed to me. Now this is a giant bag, one that is way too big for my daily use but perfectly sized for a travel bag on weekend trips or for a girl who is 6' tall (like one of my best friends in LA, Corinne, the gorgeous supermodel turned supermom). I am excited to see a bag from French Moroccan designer Martine Sitbon, once the designer of choice for chic Euro girls who love bold color and dramatic silhouettes, but has been absent from the scene due to financial difficulties. This Fall marks a big come back for the designer, one which is overdue (and having lost the rights to her own name she presented under "Rue de Mail"). Now that you have a brief history of the designer, let's get back to this fabulous metallic bag. There are no labels nor monograms but it's not boring either, the use of straps and stitching give the bag plenty of style and function. The skin is a thick pebbled lambskin so it is soft but sturdy enough to withstand years of use, I can see this fading to a gorgeous distressed silver in a few years making this a worthy investment. you mentioned the distressing of the silver leather.. i've had a question about that. i've noticed my silver bags starting to turn a matte grey, especially around the straps and edges. is there a way to fix this, or is this just standard for metallic bags and nothing to worry about? i don't want to carry around a beat up bag!

I just called Cleo Gilmer-Concalves (Show-Room Rue du Mail/ 5, Rue du Mail/ 75002 Paris/ + 33 01 42 60 19 20) to ask her what could be the quickest way to get my hands on this bag (see above) ... and guess what she answered!!?? ... "None ... because we do not have any bags in our collection, yet ... we have belts, we have gloves but no bags ... (she lingert)" and she was really sorry, albeit a little disturbed by my disbelief ... Are you sure this bag comes from "Rue du Mail"?
