Marc Jacobs Olga Seventies Satchel

I love all things Seventies; the feather hairdos, the flashy clothes, the platform shoes and most of all, the boho chic bags! Marc Jacob's Olga Seventies Satchel will now be added to that list, it is a snob worthy bag no matter what angle you look at it (the only detail I could do without is the logo plaque). I love the small chain straps which look like an extension of the contrasting piping, which is fabulous in itself. It comes in two colors, ivory and indigo, I prefer the lighter ivory as it will look amazing with camel shades in the Fall. Again, I am continually amazed at the difference in the Marc Jacob line of bags and the line he does for Louis Vuitton. There is a definite disconnect there which confirms my theory that he allows his 20 bag design assistants to use Louis Vuitton as practice for craft projects at the village crafts fair.

Marc Jacobs Olga Seventies Satchel at Saks for pre-order, $1,495.

  • I agree, I think he just merges anybody's idea for LV but since his line has his name on it, I think his vanity makes him see reason.

  • i like indigo better because it kinda camo's the name badge

  • Seriously guys. I'm not sure if I should thank you, yell at you, or just stick to Beauty Snob because now I'm obsessed with this bag. I really feel that I have to have it!

PS. I like the idigo better because it's a unique looking color! But the ivory is so elegant...*sigh* choices...

  • How much more can he possibly rip off Chanel??? So irritating. I actually really admire MJ for his exhaustive knowledge of fashion history, but he often uses this knowledge for blatant (and not very inventive, however profitable) "homages" to his fashion ancestors.

  • I LUV the ivory. It looks like something Jackie O would have carried in the 60's. The sales person at Saks said they would have it in a few weeks! Can't wait!

  • There's an Anya hindmarch bag that this one really resembles!!
I like it though, both colours. i prefer the marc Jacobs one.

  • Holy frickin' crap. If I don't get this bag I may have to risk some form of bodily convulsion. LOVE the ivory.
