Givenchy Nightingale in Marrone Patent

How can you resist this candy apple colored Givenchy Nightingale? I have been thinking about the Nightingale since I discovered it six months ago, it is really an effortless bag to toss around. I loved the charcoal version with metallic ostrich leg trim but this slick patent for Fall is also gorgeous! I love all the unique shades they are coming up with in patent leather this season, so much more fun than basic black. Color brings so much style to a wardrobe and can liven up the most drab of outfits! I have never been afraid of color, I was running around today wearing a yummy plummy dress and carrying a hot pink bag and got stopped everywhere from bag snobbers who wanted to compliment me on my bag. Go ahead, try some color for yourself and you'll be surprised at how wearable it is! $1,695 at Barneys New York. 469-221-4725

  • yummy color

  • Love GIVENCHY nightingale. i got it in dark brown leather already, and now really wanna buy one more in patent leather!!!

  • I'm mixed, the color and the patent leather are great, but the shape reminds me too much of my husband's bowling bag.

  • I give it an A for color and material but a C for the shape. To me, it's an inelegant shape and rather slouchy and slumpy. Oh, well, we can't all agree all the time. I give the Nightingale name an A+; it's lovely.

  • fabulous! i wonder if it looks brown or red in person? either way it is gorgeous.

  • Lisa and Ann,

Do not let the photo fool you. I got this bag back when the Snobs recommended it to me over a Lanvin. (only one bag per season for my budget) I have used it the entire summer. It has a perfect shape, not too big, but great for a summer book and a light sweater for those AC restaurants. It's soft, so the bag molds to your side. I have the one with the brass colored, python handles, and I get constant comments from women every time I take it out. It is the hippest bag I've ever owned, and believe me, I've got a few....

ps Trust in the Bag Snobs, they know their stuff!

  • Sue, good to hear it's been great. I'd give it a try just for the name.

  • Just got the aubergine medium nightingale from Barneys online(I think I got the last one;). I absolutely LOVE it! And the color is so perfect for fall. The size is great and you can carry it on the crook of your arm OR as a shoulder bag! I know the shape is not too appealing initially but trust me, it's a beautiful bag.
