Furla Gisele Shopper

This is for furlagirl, one of our first supporters! Furla Giselle Shopper is the kind of easy totes you leave by your front door to grab without a thought. It's 13.5" wide so it is a great size for Bag Snob of all sizes. The light metallic leather makes it a neutral to go with whatever you are wearing and the chevron stitching lends the current vibe of the season but is also a classic so you won't be embarrassed to be seen with it a few seasons from now. Furla is a great brand for those who crave designer luxury without the high prices. It's huge in Europe and Asia but has yet to catch on in the United States. Why not grab one and try for yourself? You'll love the versatility of this perfectly sized bag and the reasonable price, $415 at Saks Fifth Avenue.

  • Thanks for mentioning Furla here. I bought one of their bags this year that I have a hard time switching my things out of (to give it a little rest once in a while) because I love it so darn much. I think more people should know about them because their product is gorgeous and, it's true, a little more approachable for everyday use.

  • Furla bags are quite popular in Asia, for the price they are well crafted and very well designed.

  • i've taken a look at this bag several times while out shopping. i always thought it looked like something the bagsnobs would approve of :)

  • I am a new aspiring bag snob who only recently discovered this wonderful site. I love it! I also really like the Furla bag...it's so stylish and not over-the-top expensive. One more to add to my list of wants.

  • Furla don't do particularly innovative design but the to do very interesting finishes. I notice that they have an 'inspired by' the YSL Muse which if you can't afford the real thing would be a very acceptable substitute at less than half the price.

I've had loads of furla bags over the years and as affordable goes, they're, in my opinion, the very best.

  • I quite depend on Furla bags. They're reasonably priced, classically designed and low-key (no obtrusive logos or tags). However, the leather seems to always wear out after a year of use. Not exactly one of those bags that lasts years, or do those bags not exist anymore no matter how much you pay?

  • I do agree that Furla bags tend to fall apart after a year. On the other hand, a friend of mine who has a Chloe Paddington says hers looks quite a mess after a year of use.

The bags of mine that have stayed up after sustained use are my Luella, and my Anya Hindmarch Carkers which shows that you get what you pay for.

  • Dear Bag Snob,

I have to tell you this past Friday I purchased the new Elizabeth bag in chocolate and I just started using it. I really love it and the price was just wonderful. I think that is why I am so pleasantly surprised. I have been looking high and low for a chocolate bag and quite frankly I didn't like any of the high end bags as much as the ones I already own.. I am so missing Pheobe Philo this year.

I kind of knew it would have your stamp of approval, I told that to my husband who always has to ask would the Bag Snob approve??

    a fellow bag snob......

  • I've had my Furla for well over a year now and abused it no end. For a while, I used it to carry notebooks to class (it's that big). I've squished it and stretched it and done all sorts of horrible things, and it's barely wear-and-tearing. A few scratches, yes, but that's it. I even had a pen leak in it and you can't tell from the outside, just the lining.

    LOVE MY FURLA.
