Sang A Bags
By Bag Snob Tina
July 24, 2007

I stumbled upon Sang A’s luscious bags and clutches on LuxCouture (a fantastic site for unique and hard to find bag designers for the ultimate Bag Snobs!) and I instantly fell in love. Yes yes, it seems I fall in love daily but I have a huge heart and there is lots of room for gorgeous bags in there! And just look at these incredible finds, how could you not love them? Sang A was a well known actress in her native Korea before moving to New York and designing her line of exotic skin bags. She’s making waves with celebs and fashion editors and now she’s captured the Bag Snob’s heart. Go check out her collection, I know you will want one in every color!

RIVER TOTE

River Tote in Bone crocodile $8,456 Silver Python $2,300

Could you just die? I need this to tote around my computer and files when I have business meetings! How can the Bag Snob show up at meetings with a ratty computer bag right? This is also a great travel bag, it reminds me of the ’60s flight attendant bags, very retro chic.

THE FLASH CLUTCH

sangagreencroc.jpgblacksanga.jpg

Flash clutch – Dark green crocodile $2,500 Black Stamped crocodile $887

The geometric parallelogram shape of Sang A’s flash clutch is elegant and sophisticated, the lack of beading or fuss makes it the perfect complement to a dressy evening ensemble. I am loving the dark green crocodile, how stunning will that be with my winter white cashmere?

JADE CLUTCH

bluepython.jpgbonealligator.jpg

As I mentioned earlier, a flash of color is a must this Fall, get it with this fab electric blue python clutch – $1,650 at Lux Couture.

silverblack.jpg Silver and black Olivia in lizard $1,400- this is a timeless classic and totally red carpet worthy. It is something I’d expect to see in the clutches of Julie Roberts or Nicole Kidman who favor simple black gowns. I am also planning on adding this to my wardrobe, it is perfect to add to the Bag Snob collection!

maxpython.jpg MAX in black python $2,880 is a fun take on the hobo bag. Structured yet casual, it’s your everyday tote for work which will also translate well into the evening. I love the silhouettes Sang A has created for her bag line, so timeless but also very relevant for Fall 2007.

Sang A also available at Neiman Marcus stores- Call or email Connie Dieb, my favorite personal shopper at Neiman Marcus; even if it is hard to find, chances are she will get it for you! 972-342-0015

I saw these bags at Neimans in Beverly Hills. I loved the bags. The only thing that I didn’t like was the lining…otherwise gorgeous!!!

I purchased one of her bags in grey patent at lagarconne.com, back in May. Then there is a small article on her in the current issue of Vogue.

I’m all over the silver python and dark green crocodile wow! And just last week I was thinking it’s patent leather from here on out. I was getting disgusted by the glut of exotic skins. These are just too cool.

She was a pretty big (not super) star in Korean entertainment world during late 90′s.

I still have her first CD. It was a good one.

But some ugly stories around her for a while, then she just disappeared.

I’m happy for her to get an amazing chance in the states. Good for her!
