Embossed patent leather for $1,395 at Bergdorf Goodman.
So after I read the news about the dwindling supply and the astronomical prices of crocodile skins, I thought I should offer you other options (and yes, my evil plan is to get rid of the competition for exotics to keep the prices low and the supply high, muhahahha) For Fall, Prada's younger and hipper sister brand Miu Miu, has the alternative to the pricey exotic- the St. Cocca Bugatti zip top bag in chocolate croc stamped leather. I saw this in person and it is quite chic- though I could tell it was not crocodile, I doubt anyone else will. It has that really nice sheen of vintage crocodile bags before matte skins became so popular in the last few years which I really love. I think this is a great way for younger and/or frugal snobs to get the look of croc without shelling out a year's college tuition. Another bonus is that the shapes are all funky and vintage-y too so you'll look hip while looking impossibly snobby. $1,095 at Barneys New York. Call Christy at 469-221-4725

that black one is great, i love miu miu!
Are sure no one else would notice it is stamped leather and not croc? I am saving diligently for the real deal, but that is a long way off, and this cute bag would be perfect for what I have planned to wear this winter. Should I splurge now or keep my disciplined saving and wait? What I have now for winter was an investment that I have worn to death.
this would be great for me as i can not afford tens of thousands of dollars for a crocodile..
Save a croc and buy that bag. It's the best looking real or mock this edition anyway.
i love that black one!
I love both of these bags. These will last for years. Nothing trendy about them, which I love. Great price too.
