You’ll notice that I did not assign a category for this bag. For me this will never make the “it” bag list yet it’s not heinous enough for “On the Rag” either. It’s just a boring blah, been there done that military inspired (again?!?!) Mulberry knock off from Chloe. The lack of inspiration from the House that gave us the Paddington, the Edith and many other major bags are now offering us boring mutations of all of the above. I love the taupe leather but did they have to add the drab olive contrast? A muted gray or lavender would have been much better. I actually like the handles and the little fan details, it’s interesting and cute but still not enough to convince me to shell out $1,825 for it. Plus it just look heavy and stiff, after using my ultra light and supple Valextra and Bottega bags all season, I don’t know how I can go back to lugging so much poundage around. And those long zipper pulls are just totally un-chic and sloppy. So what do you snobbers think? I’m going to let you decide the fate of this one. Snob or Slob? Chloe Elvire Leather Tote $1,825

Slob it to On the Rag! It’s hideous!

The ridged parts at the end of the handles look like monster feet. Once I noticed that the rest of the bag lost any chance it might have had (which, looking at the rest of the bag, wasn’t much of a chance at all).

    PS Love the blog!

Blah…I agree, although I do like the green contrast. It’s a bit busy, and it looks like it weighs a ton (like the Paddington).

Ugh. I’m with Morgan – this is just awful. They really need to bow out of the handbag market ASAP.

seeing as how I’m now suffering through the decision to get an edith messenger–not only is it heavy, but the bag snob gals were SO ON THE MONEY ABOUT THE QUESTIONABLE STITCHING–that I would never, ever, ever get this thing. Or anything else from Chloe. I’m patiently saving up for a Valextra and I’ll live without the messenger amenity.

The only Chloe bag I liked in recent memory is the Betty with the chain. I am only 27 so I figured, why not, while its still age appropriate….but this bag a definate NO!

What happened to the days of Chloe having stylish handbags? I own a betty and a betty clutch bag and I love them, but for real…this bag is bad.

Since there isn´t very much happening on the bagside during the weekend I´d just like to add my verdict on the Chole bag.HORRIBLE.

Looks like something Mrs. Indiana Jones would carry because it also comes in handy for beating back marauding alligators.
