Carlos Falchi Collage Tote

You lucky citizens of California will be spared this eye sore from Carlos Falchi when shopping at Saks because California state laws prohibit the sale of python skin (I do apologize for assaulting you with these images online though). I burst out laughing when I read the description of this unsightly bag on the Saks website, "a seductively luxurious mix of anaconda and snakeskin". What kind of drugs are they on? Who would be seduced by this? What they should have written is "a repulsively overpriced and deformed collage of reptile scraps". At least then consumers like yourselves will be able to make an informed choice. By the way, they are asking $2,995 for the bag, can you believe it? Here is a close up just so you can fully see the extent of this horror. At Saks.com and Saks Fifth Ave stores outside of California.

  • Oy, that is truly fugly. I've never been a fan of snakeskin or most reptile bags, but that bag takes it to the freakshow level!

  • I understand that USA is a large country, but find it hard to understand that there are so many laws between the states. It just seems ridiculous that in one state something is forbidden and when you cross a stateline something is not.And you call this the United States of America.Back to the bag-it is interesting to see a mixmax and I don´t see it as a ridiculous bag.If you have the money and you like it -why not.

  • Speaking of ugly... did you see the latest Prada eyesore? Neiman Marcus
What is wrong with designer these days?

  • For the first time: I am so happy that they do not sell python in California.

  • A terrifying bag which is no use for anyone, not to mention the fact that its made from slimy slippery snakes!!!

EliG, yes the 'Ombre Patent Leather Tote' is equally as shocking if not more, I think we need to have these products banned forever, who is with me?

  • I wrote earlier this month that I don´t see this Carlos Falchi collage tote as a ridiculous bag and I still defend my opinion.Just think- this bag gives you a chance to dress in all the colors of the rainbow, you can pick shoes of all sorts of leather or canvas because the bag itself is a mixmax of everything possible. And you don´t have to worry tossing it on the ground, cause that is the snakes natural environment.Defending my earlier opinion of this particular bag does not mean that I would freewillingly go out and buy it.I just for once tried to take a different aspect to this bag that has raised so many negative comments. Thanks for letting me express my comment more clearly.

  • Patchwork snakeskin is taking it a step too far. The close up was very upsetting. I like snakeskin shoes, but bags, not so much. This bag, not at all!

  • I'm with you, matte. I like this bag too, and don't have a problem with using snakes. It is hypocritical of everyone to support using crocodile or alligator in bags, then say that snakes should be saved. Bah. There are enough snakes. I cannot afford this bag, but I would buy an affordable version in stamped leather.
