Bottega Veneta Anaconda Lucida Lux
By Bag Snob Tina
July 17, 2007

So you saw the dark blue Valextra Crocodile that Kelly talked me out of because she said it was too much to spend our hard earned Bag Snob money on. Well, I walked in to the Bottega Veneta boutique right after only to be tempted by this beauty (I really should just stay home as my husband often suggests, but since I buy bags with money I earn from Bag Snob, he really has no say does he?). I was hypnotized not only by the unique gray/taupe color but the gorgeous Anaconda skin. This is one of those times when I just did not care how much it was going to cost, I had to get it. (Of course any bag would seem like a bargain after seeing the crocodile price!)

sidebv.jpgThe minute I put the bag on my shoulders, I knew it would be mine because the design is beyond brilliant. The straps are adjustable by 5 inches so you can either carry it as a top handle bag for luncheons and dinners or lengthen it to a slouchy shoulder bag for days of running around! It doesn’t stop there, it is actually a structured frame bag with a soft body so it will never, ever, lose it’s shape! Now we all love a good frame bag but it can seem kind of stuffy for certain occasions but the unstructured body of the Lucida bag makes it more casual for daily wear. I can not tell you how perfect this bag is. I really think I have found THE BAG OF THE YEAR. The color, named Limo, changes depending where you are, in the store it had an elegant dark gray sheen but in the sun, it was light and taupe-y. It absolutely will go with everything I own! The interior is lavender suede, can you say delish?

interiorbv.jpgWhen Jasenka, the Supervisor at BV Dallas told me it was a special edition and not available in large quantities, I wanted it even more. I called Kelly again and persuaded her to buy a BV bag as well so I would not feel guilty (we share our Bag Snob money equally :) . So our day of extravagance left us both with brand new bags from our favorite designer du jour. You’ll have to wait a while before she can share hers with you as she is officially on maternity leave. Bottega Veneta Anaconda Lucida Lux bag in Limo available at select Bottega Boutiques. Email Jasenka for pricing and details or call her at 214-265-0136 .

Bag Snob Tina, that is a BEAUTIFUL bag…especially in the Limo color. Kevin at Bottega Veneta Chicago told me they were continuing the color after Spring 2007 and I was thrilled to hear it!!! I went crazy with the Limo color (crazy for me anyway), buying a pair of their Roma loafers in Limo and the Limo Nodi Shopper (the most I have ever spent on a bag), and even a Limo key chain cause my BFF Dana told me I looked like a big girl rumuging around for my keys in my Army Sardegna canvas BV shopper. And I bought that canvas shopper because of you Bag Snob girls with a post saying a cavnas bag is great for the gym. And I said to myself, “you know, they are right.” Thank you for giving me an excuse to go shopping!!!

Bag Snob Tina, you must stop being so cruel, my poor wallet has suffered considerably with you dangling all these wonderful bags in front of my eyes each day!

This is an amazing bag, just when I thought you can’t come up with another great bag, you do.

I love how you describe everything, its as if i am touching it and feeling it myself. Drool…….

Hi Tina – I love the bag. It is beautiful. I am however afraid of all exotic skins. Does this style come in leather?

This may be the best BV bag ever, even though this is an old

bit, does anyone know if it is available somewhere?

I can’t believe I have started this bag obsession (with much bag snob help) . Although, I am a new member I am very intrigued by the great bag resources you offer. Joining, started with me really, really wanting to make an investment to get a great bag collection for the very first time in my life. I am thirty nine. Not knowing where to start, I am now hooked! I just emailed Jasenka for Lucida Limo details to purchase.

Hi Tina, i absolutely ADORE this bag! Ive been trying to get my BV store here to hunt this bag down for me and they have yet to get back to me. One question though, whats the dimension of this bag and how versatile is it? as im deciding between this bag and the Lindy (which ive had my eye on since it first came out in 2006 and sooo pleased to hear that u’ve now got one too!)

Thanks a million and keep up the good work! :)

    J xx
