Bing Bang bags are the bags du jour for urban Bag Snobs who aspire to classic pieces with a downtown edge. Don't they look like something that Angelina Jolie would be toting around while on her Harley? The bags are simple in detail yet stark and dramatic in design; designer Anna Sheffield draws inspiration from different aspects of her surroundings, especially the natural environs of New Mexico where she hails from. I've seen Bing Bang bags at Barneys in the last few months and always stop to admire them but it wasn't until I saw the Vera doctor bags and Athena clutches that I thought "wow!" The Vera doctor bags above in washed lambskin are casual but sophisticated, the subtle curve of the frame and the slope of exterior pockets soften the shape of the doctor bag and the golden chain dresses it up. It is an incredible buy at $745!
The Athena clutches come in patent cracked leather, black or red leather, and suede. I love the curb chain handle on, it makes the clutch less formal and more youthful. It also reminds me of my tiny Hermes Kelly clutch. You have to look at the details of the chain, it is hooked to the base the way a piece of jewelry would. The price is also easy to stomach, $395. I definitely like the Vera bags, but my personal fav has to be the red and black Athena clutch. Although, I am older now the edginess reminds me of my rocker chick days. I'll buy it because it takes me back to a time where life was just fun!!!
