Kingsley Handbags
By Bag Snob Tina
June 4, 2007

I love the discovery of talented new bag designers, it is a feeling like no other for me. My heart races and all I can think of is how to get my hands on the gorgeous bags! Of course I am just as anxious to share my new discoveries with our readers (but only after I’ve secured my own stash, just kidding!) Such was the case when I happened upon the Kingsley Handbag website this morning, my heart started pounding, my hands started shaking and I felt like I was going to combust from the excitement! It’s as if designer Lisa Kingsley had designed this line specifically for me and is speaking to me directly through the bags! All bags are made with ostrich or python and the prices are very reasonable, an ostrich clutch starts at $975 and an ostrich tote for $1,775. The line does not cater to those with trendy tastes but instead offers classic and luxurious styles with Kingsley’s whimsical details such as the braided handles, a signature look for the line. What I also love is the monthly bag feature. Each month, Kingsley offers a different style (and we all know we secretly want to buy a bag a month!), making it even harder to resist since it’s easier to justify a bag every 30 days than 12 bags all at once. You must take a peek for yourself at Kingsley Handbag’s Website. Here are my favorites (which by the way, is every bag on the website!)

The Schiller Bag in Ostrich $1,375. The cool grey and adorable pink are both hard to resist, I am leaning more towards the grey though.

The SouthPort Traveler in Ostrich $2,125- This is to die, I want the white ostrich traveler, it will match my white ostrich Hermes Kelly bag for weekend trips! (white not shown, go to the website to see!)

The SouthPort Jr. Tote $1,775- The SouthPort tote has my name all over it, seriously, look closely.

The Virginia Clutch $975 and The Kedzie Lavish $1,225- The clutch comes in four fab shades, check out the site to view for yourself.

OMG I AM IN LOVE!!! The southport jr. tote is my fave!!! It has a similar design to my Givenchy medium Nightingale (slouchy egg like shape, unique handle details+shoudler/flight strap)but it adds what the Nightingale is desperatley lacking with the outer zip compartment! I must have it in WHITE!!!

Thank you for posting on this brilliant new designer!!!

Love the bags, but not the best website. Wish you could view the styles easier.

That pink Schiller bag is just adorable!!! It’s feminine and whimsical without being at all girly or twee… just gorgeous and I really, really want it. Can you imagine how carefree and chic one would look carrying that bag down a cobbled street, wearing a sundress, floppy hat, strappy sandals and with a baguette tucked neatly under one arm!? Haha I’m fantasising… it must be love :)

The bags do look rather yummy! Totally love the style, color and the leather.

But I worry about the little details buying something sight unseen — hardware, softness of the leather, if the ostrich “bumps” are hammered down (like Hermes ostrich skin).

The bags are GORGEOUS! So simple and chic and timeless. Gwyneth has been carrying the Southport in the black ostrich all over L.A.–pictures all over Us and OK!
