I adore Cartier and send my husband there to pick up a watch or a bauble or two as often as possible (the trick is to let them think it's their idea, it also helps that one of my girlfriends is now the Director of a Cartier boutique). I got the diamond Tank American for Christmas, the current fave of my watch collection as it is one of the most elegant and beautiful watches ever designed! La Maison Cartier has maintained its reputation for ultra luxurious goods since 1847, its jewels (both old and new) are highly coveted and its watches retain resale value better than most but will that translate to a successful bag line? Cartier has always offered a small selection of evening bags but have announced plans for entry in to the luxury handbag market. The design team is lead by former Calvin Klein designer Marlin Yuson. Yuson said he is "staying away from it bags and is focusing on timeless classic designs" like the Marcello bag above which will be offered in 3 sizes and multiple colors (tan, midnight blue, pink and even a zebra ponyskin). Custom made bags will also be available starting at $2,050 with choice of gold or platinum hardware.

I Love Cartier bags...They're my Mom's favorite. They last forever. It's so big in the Philippines, I don't know why it's not as big here. It's a great investment.

It's the fugliest thing ever. In an attempt to expand their brand, I think they're really compromising on a lot with this bag. It's something a grandma would wear, there's nothing fashion or even classic about this unoriginal bag.
I love this bag. In fact, I want one. I slung the medium size one over my shoulder and was instantly in love. The large one is too huge though. Which means the tiniest of wman will probably love it :)
As a buyer for Cartier at Taiwan Duty Free, I'd like to let you all know Cartier spent a lot of time and effort on market research for this bag in terms of design and functionality. It is not just another bag for their collection. Its actually quite comfortable to wear and the MM size is the perfect carryall. You will begin to see it on the arms of celebrities soon...
CLASSY, very feminine. no chains or weird colors just The basics and yet beautiful. A master piece.
I have the PM size and I think it is quite pratical for daily use. It can be zipped up in the center & the side zippered pocket is very handy to put in your cellphone, parking ticket or loose change. Without a jacket I can even carry it on the shoulder. It does have a mumsie look but its shaped like popular Gerard Darel 24 bag which is still a big hit in France. Considering the PM size in Tobacco color is often sold out in the boutiques (there was only 2 available in the whole of France when I bought it)I hope this will be the house It bag for the next few years!
