Not only is Salma Hayek HOT and proudly showing off her pregnant belly, she is engaged to Francois-Henri Pinault, the CEO of PPR (his dad is the owner), which owns such wondrous labels as Yves Saint Laurent, Sergio Rossi, Boucheron, Bottega Veneta, Alexander McQueen, Stella McCartney, Gucci and Balenciaga. She has got it going on!! I'm also pregnant and not feeling my hottest so seeing her let it all hang out makes me believe I have a sexy belly, too! Yeah, maybe that's taking it a little far, I'll settle for "glowing" or whatever euphemism people have for the state of my body. Well, kudos to Salma for being a full fledged women and conquering the world. She is our hero of the year! What do you think? Is she looking like a hot snob or a fat slob?

I don't even know why I'm bothering knocking a Versace bag, especially this one that is totally on par with what you'd expect from the House of the Garish. But the fact remains that anyone who would buy this bag really needs to reevaluate the message they are sending out, could it be wannabe stripper? Mid-west trophy wife? Mafia girlfriend? As always, the big Medusa head hang prominently on a giant gold emblem front and center. I see this at the gift shop at Caesar's Palace Las Vegas for $50 but even so, you should leave it in the room for housekeeping at the end of your stay when you are done toting your sun block to the pool. Not only is this bag grotesque, it is totally dysfunctional as well. Look how the bag opens up - like a can of soup! Totally not in harmony with anything we look for in a bag. Please let us know if you see anyone with this bag, I'd like to know the accuracy of my profiling. $1900 at eLuxury.

We first introduced Jennifer Alfano in Feb and told you how much we loved her line of exotic skin bags and consider her a long lost sister of the Bag Snobs. Well, I just had lunch with her in New York last week and she is even more lovable in person! Not only does Jennifer look eerily similar to her style icon Jane Birkin (back when Jane was 22) but she can eat as much as me! Not many girls can keep up with my insatiable appetite so how could I not love a girl who will share foie gras and multiple desserts with me at lunch? It was like hanging out with Kelly, we ate, gossiped, and had a great time sharing our dirty little fashion secrets (did you pick up your silver ballet shoes yet Jen?) She also told me she has lots of new bags up her sleeve for Fall but that is top secret info but you can check out her current line of must have bags and clutches on her site! Like this Carolina white python clutch that is way too fab to pass up. $1295 at LuxCouture.

One of our readers was concerned that we are not sharing enough sale items with everyone. Well, to be honest (and it may sound selfish but....) I've been so busy sale shopping myself that I have not been on my toes about announcing when all the pre-sales are (I just went to the first day of their pre-sale at YSL and also the Tod's pre-sale which proved to be very very fortuitous, I will share with you what I got when I receive the bag this weekend). Pretty much all the big designers are doing their pre-sales right now and the regular sale starts next week or around June 1st (always remember, Jan and June are the big sales months). The department stores are already doing major sales and the online stores are doing free shipping. Here are a few to get you started and give you an idea of the amazing selection available to you at a fraction of the original price. Our favorites from Miu Miu, like the frame version of the coffer is only $906 from $1295 and the shoulder hobo is a mere $591.50 (originally $845)!! Both available at Saks. Free shipping on purchases over $150 with code: SUMMER. Shop away girls!

Jimmy Choo's electric blue Mave foldover clutch caught my eye this weekend while browsing the web for Memorial weekend sales, I just love a jolt of brightness with my summer whites! I have the oversized Marin clutch in white and think it's a more functional size but the Mave is super adorable and either size will work for luncheons or evenings out. I love the wristlet strap on the clutch, you can hang the clutch from your bag hook or on the back of your chair, it's always awkward trying to figure out where to put your clutch when sitting at a table, leave it in your lap and risk food dropping on it? Or put it on the floor to get dirty or stepped on? It also leaves my hands free at cocktail parties, it's comical to watch women balancing their clutches in one hand, champagne in the other while trying to shove hors d'oeuvre in their mouths! Fold over clutches are the hot look this season and this is one of my favorites, I love the suede and leather contrast with buckle and stripe on back, the magnetic enclosure is also good for lazy people like me who never bother to zip up their bags. There is a large outer pocket to store cell and keys, a feature not often found on clutches but very necessary! $895 at Net-a-Porter.

One of the oldest leather glove makers in Paris has entered the business of designer handbags. Michel Perrin, CEO of Perrin Paris, revamped the 114 year old family business by introducing the ultra hip bag line last April. As expected, the bags are all handstitched with painstaking detail, not unlike the precision taken to fit a glove perfectly on the hand. The sleek and modern Berline totes and clutches are absolutely gorgeous! Its fluid lines lend grace and elegance to the bags and the straps and super mod buttons add whimsy and fun, which will appeal to bag snobs of all ages and tastes. I know I sound like a gushing francophile but does everything not sound better when said in French? Say it to yourself, Perrin Paris, rolls off nicely on the tongue n'est pas? The prices are reasonable too. The Perrin Paris Berline Clutch is a mere $325 and the Perrin Paris Berline Large Tote is $655. Both at Shopbop. Check the Perrin Paris website often for new styles!

Apple Daily, Taiwan and Hong Kong's #1 newspaper honored Bag Snob with a full page profile last month. A big Thank You to Chia Hua Lin for her in depth report and for introducing us to thousands of new readers in Asia! Our families were able to read this and finally understand our business (and that we're not just "playing" on our computers all day long. Well, we actually are playing but it's not our fault our work is so fun!). My 93 year old grandmother, who has been my inspiration for a lifetime, is most proud of us and that means the world to me. Thanks Kel for the introduction to Chia Hua. xoxo

Clementine Chepstow Bag by Smythson
Uber luxury brand Smythson of Bond Street has announced its entry into the competitive market of fashion handbags called "Nancy". Long known for fine stationery and leather goods (including a small collection of classic bags), Smythson now hopes to attract fashionistas around the globe with its new high quality fashion bag line. Priced from $981 - $1873, the line will be Italian made with two styles: a clutch and a soft self frame shoulder bag. Clasps are covered in leather and fashioned after vintage locks and in pale gold hardware. Small leather goods, a french purse and key ring, will also be available. Whichever bag you choose to purchase, be rest assured that it will offer the same Smythson quality we've come to expect. "It's quirky British luxury with a sense of humor," said Samantha Cameron, creative director for the brand. "It's about quality. We're not a fashionable bag, we're a fashionable luxury goods brand."
Smythson's New York boutique will close temporarily for renovations but will reopen in September. A store at Two Rodeo Drive in Beverly Hills will open this summer and plans for three more stores in the US are underway for the next year. Are you as excited as me? You should be! I have always loved Smythson stationery and can't wait to get my hands on the Clementine bag above!
