Bottega Veneta Campana Bag

bvcampana.JPG

I found myself mesmerized by the Campana bag in pink magnolia last week at the Bottega Veneta boutique. While the Montaigne bag is boxy, serious and grown up (and actually a bit too masculine for me), the Campana bag is soft, pretty and ultra feminine. I agonized over this bag as I did not want (nor did I need) two pink magnolia colored Bottega bags, limited edition or not, I am not that greedy. After transferring everything from my bag to see how it'd look with real stuff in it, (even better than the tissue paper!) I had to take it home with me. I know, I have no self control. But I cancelled the Montaigne bag in magnolia so one of you lucky people on the list below me will get to have it. I love my Campana bag, the woven lambskin is super lightweight (about 6 ounces) and very roomy for all my summer needs (about 12 inches wide but expands to 14 inches if needed). It has a magnetic enclosure on top so I never have to worry about closing it (whereas the Montaigne would require me to zip and unzip from side to side at each access). There is a cell phone holder and side zipped pocket in the ultra soft suede interior lining and flat straps that stay on the shoulder really well. It's also about $400 less than the Montaigne bag which means I get to pick out a pair of Bottega shoes :) $1,690 at Bottega Venetta 214-265-0136 (good luck trying to locate one, I think it's sold out)

Get your Sunshine on!

I have never been crazy about the color yellow but the sunny shade of Alexandra Knight's mini Gage alligator tote is just so... happy! This is the perfect color for my friend Gigi, she has gorgeous golden locks that will shine brilliantly with it on her arm. The alligator texture also adds depth to the bright canary yellow which makes it easier on the eye. I like the casualness of this bag, it's playful and fun but ultra luxurious. They call this the "mini" Gage but don't be fooled, at 14x12x5 it's generously sized (same dimensions as a 35cm birkin, which is hardly mini)! Call Alexandra Knight for pricing details 713.527.8848

Mystery Solved!

mysterysolved.jpgRemember when we first unveiled the hideous Louis Vuitton leopard bag? We all thought, what moron would buy this faux leopard and plastic piece of junk for $7,250? Well, we finally solved the mystery, it's none other than Jessica Simpson, who doesn't seem one bit embarrassed to be seen in public with this gross bag. And check out that big shit eatin' grin on her face, it says "No style and damn proud!". Go Jess! I bet she's got one of the Tribute Barf Bags in her closet too. I know you Jessica fans are going to razz me and say she's beautiful, rich, and famous so she can do whatever she wants but no, that's not how it works here in Bag Snob world. It doesn't matter how pretty, how rich, or how famous you are. If you look like an idiot, we will point out the obvious. But that doesn't mean we don't like you! We do like Jessica and think she's super cute and smart, I mean who else can claim they launched an entire career on "Is it chicken? Or is it fish?"

What does everyone think? Snob or Slob?

Made on Earth for David & Scotti

Designed in Florence, Italy by David Dewar McMillan and made from parts around the world, "Made on Earth for David and Scotti" embodies casual elegance for the modern day woman. This collection is dedicated to the magical powers of the human hand, knotting and braiding leather to exceptional shapes and styles utilizing ancient manual techniques of indigenous origins. This is such an adorable bag, the ruching, the shape, it's just so squeezably cute. I also love the elongated handles, Kelly will love it too as she is always complaining that bag handles are getting so short she can't put them over her shoulders anymore. The only place I've been able to find a large collection of David and Scotti bags is Zappos.com. This is a bag from the new season so you'll have to check the site often to catch it when it launches. $475 (when was the last time you saw a bag worthy of purchase under $500?)

Miu Miu Suede Tie Dye Bag

miumiusuedetiedye.jpg
This is one seriously ugly bag. I am not sure what happened but I am guessing an explosion of ink cartridges at the Miu Miu design house prompted this inspiration. Another reminder we need to purchase a nice pencil case for our beloved bags. What is the obsession with tie dye anyway? I never understood the trend nor why it keeps coming back. There is an episode of Caillou (the Charlie Brown of Generation Z) where he spills ink on his shirt and his Grandma decides to spill more on the other side to give it the tie dye look. Caillou was all excited over this look, cuz what other 4 year old wouldn't love being able to spill stuff on themselves and not get in trouble? Why am I talking about a cartoon that you've probably never heard of or care about? Because 4 year olds are the only people who should be wearing tie dye, and it should be home made. $1,595 (I know, as if you don't have anything better to buy with that kind of money!) at Barneys New York.

Christina Ricci - Snob or Slob?

0330_ricci.jpgLooks like Wednesday Addams is all grown up in Sophia Kokosalaki cocktail dress, vintage Jean Schlumberger designed Tiffany bangles, and chic short bangs at the premier of Samsonite's Fashionaire collection (which she is the new face of). I will not comment any further as I've been accused of swaying votes due to my biased opinion :) But enough about me, how do you think she looks? Snob or Slob?

Samsonite's Fashionaire Luggage Collection features vintage inspired pieces that remind me of the Partridge Family. I am diggin' the retro black and white floral print conceptualized by Cameron Silver of Decades, an amazing source of all things vintage. But what do you guys think of this collection? Prices range from $125 - $565
