laurenbushfeedbag.jpgfeedbag.jpg

The fashion world has gone green if you haven't noticed. Lauren Bush is the latest celeb to jump on the eco-conscious wagon with her "Feed Bag" made of natural burlap and cotton. Bush has been the honorary spokesperson for WFP for the last three years and has traveled around the world extensively to help with food aid. Amazon.com is the exclusive retailer of the Feed bag with proceeds directly benefiting United Nations' World Food Program. It retails for $59.95 and is reversible. Each bag sold will bring in $34 to WFP, enough to provide one starving child lunch every school day for an entire year. Look how cute this bag is! The reversible side is just as adorable, I'll use this everywhere, to the gym, to grocery shop, and to the park with my son. I just ordered several of the Feed bags and plan to give them away as gifts, my friends will love knowing that their gifts directly helped feed hungry kids around the world! Order yours today at Amazon.com and get free shipping!

Nuti Sevillana Ostrich

NUTISevillana.jpg

There is luxury, like the kind that come from people who think having the letters LV emblazoned on plastic makes it so, and then there is true luxury that come from incredible quality of material, meticulous craftsmanship and fine detail in design like this Nuti Sevillana in Ostrich. The signature ruthium hardware and orange suede lining, not huge logos, tell people that this is a Nuti which makes it the ultimate in luxury because if you know, you know. Just like how certain people can spot a birkin from across the room at a blink of the eye. I can't even begin to express how much I love this bag. The size is perfect, it is a little on the big side but is great for everyday functionality and the elongated shape sits comfortably under the arm. There are two large open pockets on the inside (about 4 inches wide) for easy to lose items and your usual zipper pocket on the other side. What I love most about this exquisite bag is that, unlike the seriousness of a croc, it goes with everything and I can use it everyday. Which is a good thing because it makes me look fabulous and put together in an instant! At LuxCouture for $2795.

Henry Cuir Crinkled Leather Chateau

Now that I'm getting ready for baby #2, I've been looking at large open totes and when I came across this Henry Cuir I knew my search has ended. I have always loved the simple chic styles of Henry Cuir and the whimsical beading detail on this crinkled leather is the perfect touch that gives it the "it" factor for me. Plus, how much cuter is this than some gross lame diaper bag? The bag has interior pockets and the leather is super lightweight, all good things for everyone, not just moms. At Barneys for $1625.

Valentino Histore

One of these is a bag and the other is a cake! The Mandarin Oriental in Hong Kong made this cake (the one on the right of course) because the Histore is so huge over there. This bag is generally pretty good, I just don't like that it is heavy with the braiding. The braided handle is just too chunky and thick and seems out of proportion for an otherwise ladylike shape. The pocket details and flap front are all great details that I love. This is also a good size bag so it would be great for work because you can actually fit entire folders in there. Now the question is, what flavor is the cake and is it yummy? Valentino Handbags at Saks for $1695. Thanks to Bag Snob fan Angela Leung in Hong Kong for sending the cake pic!

Snob or Slob?

293.lopez.jennifer.jpgJennifer Lopez in Los Angeles, you know, the arctic city often filled with snow and ice.... Not! What was she thinking? It's obviously not that cold cuz the woman behind her is wearing sandals, which is normal for LA. All those heavy layers, however, are not normal for LA unless you're Michael Jackson and body parts are falling off so you need to be wrapped securely. And don't even get me started on that strange and hairy bag she's carrying. What do you think? Snob or Slob? And can anyone guess the designer of the bag? BAG: $1,600 - Stella tote by Katherine Kwei

Children's Advocacy Center

Those of you who know my husband and I also know that we are active in many charities in our community. One of our favorite organizations, Collin County Children's Advocacy Center, is having their annual fundraiser gala on April 21st. Thanks to John Lowery of Wellstone communities, the center's goal of raising 1 million dollars in 1 night is almost a reality. Wellstone is the Title Sponsor of the event with a contribution of $100,000. Jay Leno is featured as the guest MC and the event has sold out! We are so fortunate to have wonderful people in our lives who support our causes. The children of Collin County will also have a better place to call home. The CCCAC offers hope for abused children of all ages and color as abuse can happen to anyone. You can help by supporting the organization through donations of clothes (the Rainbow room is where abused children can pick out new clothes and toys as they often leave their home without anything. The center currently needs t-shirts, shorts, and diaper rash cream. Yes, babies are often victims of sexual and physical abuse), gift cards, or cash on their website.

Balenciaga Clous Bag

Quickly, tell me the first 3 things that come to mind upon seeing this Balenciaga bag. Here are mine: 1. Rocky's body armor complete with spare bullets. 2. Darth Vader's combat bag 3. Forget iPods, carrying around Bang & Olufson portable speakers is so much more hip hop.

I am either not cool enough to get this or it's another one of those "Star Wars inspired me so I made a bag" type of thing from Nicolas Ghesquiere (remember his obsession with Tron and the $65,000 pants that resulted from it?) Who wants to spend thousands of dollars to look like some science fiction reject? And If we do choose to spend that kind of money on a bag shouldn't it at least look like a bag? Does this appeal to anyone? Just wondering because if it does, you probably shouldn't continue reading our website as you might be offended by our taste.

Jil Sander Spring 2007 bags

Cream Patent Tote: $960 Metallic Silver Hobo: $1,608

I was surprised to find out the metallic silver hobo was from Jil Sander as the trendy leather weave is a departure from its usual "less is more" aesthetic. The shape, however, is simple without fuss which is completely in line with what we're used to seeing from the house of minimalism. It's a nice attempt from Raf Simons (current creative director as Jil Sander retired to take up gardening) to bring a younger and trendier clientele. I am more into the dreamy cream patent tote, it just looks so chic and modern and not something you'll be sick of in like, a week. Plus it has a detachable body strap that busy bag snobs seem to love. Both bags are around 14 inches wide which will make our big bag fans happy but is still manageable enough for those of you contemplating a big bag but do not want to be laughed at. At Jil Sander New York 212-838-6100 , Barneys and Bergdorfs. Also online at MyTheresa.com
