Flirty and showing a little of what you have underneath is sexy, if you do it the right away but having a bag that looks like your underwear is the Paris Hilton way of doing it. This LV monogram with 18th century lace and lurex embroidery makes no sense the same way that Britney Spears makes no sense, or that Marc Jacobs still has a job at LV makes no sense. Does this look nice or cute to anyone? At least colorful cartoon flowers with smiley faces were cute, this is just embarrassingly stupid. Combine that with a chunky crackly gold chain for the full effect of a perfect representation of our society today. You take a normal bag, embroider cocaine all over it, show off parts that are suggestive of the hoo-hoo and dangle it with the ostentatious money of stardom and you get the Paris Hilton, Britney Spears, Lindsay Lohan, Nicole Richie and Mischa Barton of bags. $1750 by special order at LV.

You know the shape is nice, if they just left it at that. And the puckering on the pocket is cute (it's not special just cute) and you could even keep the gold lace patch on the pocket (though it looks to me like MJ used a the front half of a panty for that one there). But lace all over it too (all over all the monograms?)? And is that even lace? And topped off with a heavy chain? WHY can't Marc Jacobs just stick to one thing at a time but instead always and ever onwards with his unsuccessful Holy Trinity of tacky?
Chains? Check. Applique? Check? Big fat absurd price tag? Double check! And ta-da! Another Marc Jacobs masterpiece! NO one is even surprised anymore, clearly his mother did not let him have enough arts and crafts time as a chid.
You're dead on though, Bag Snob pretty much only the girls you listed would be purveyors of this bag. Poor Louis Vuitton.

This is the most horrendous crap I have ever seen. I love MarcJacobs, but this is horrific.

Not surprise this disaster creation is coming out from LV.
Only two words to sum it up: tasteless & revolting.

i'm not surprised that MJ for LV will create yet more disgusting looking bags...these days I looked forward to LV accesories collection each season like I never did before, to see what new creation MJ has for me to laugh at...haha

The bags from the Fall/Winter show on Style.com are far worse... they are absolutely heinous. This one merits a thumbs-down as well. Maybe Marc Jacobs should give up on the avant garde and go back to basics.

eww.....it's going to be another one of those LV bags that u see all the teenager or trashy 20s girls wearing in the mall (fakes of course), I don't understand how those girls can shamelessly wear fake LVs out and are so proud of it? hideous!

More bargain basement crap at stupidly high prices from the wonder that is Marc Jacobs. He's flushing Louis Vuitton down the toilet - I haven't seen a decent bag from them in ages.
Can't wait for the next monstrosity!

I bought a tiny wallet (the ludlow) in gold dentelle, but I have to admit, your interpretation of the bag as being "laced" with cocaine is hilarious!

Maybe it's because the last LV bag I looked at online was that hideous tribute patchwork, but...this doesn't look THAT bad.

I think you've all been a little unfair about Marc Jacobs' talent. He has created some fabulous day bags for both LV and his own line.
This one in particular is much better looking in reality, I saw it in Paris last weekend, and although I agree that is a bit OTT, it's also imaginative and very luxurious. Fashion dsign is always about new ideas, new shapes, mixing materials and being the first to do that. Regards to you all, xx

My God,if you think this is trashy have you seen the Marc by Marc Jacobs LV 'tribute' bag?Looks like he's been drawing inspiration from the knock-offs at a Camden market stall...

That was a hilarious description but truth be told, I really don't mind this one. I would never BUY it but I have seen far trashier for much more money. I'm not a fan of LV (at all) but I could do worse than carry this thing around.

I think that if he had dialed it back a bit with the handle of this bag, he might have done well.
I actually like the lace over the mono canvas, but as I mentioned elsewhere, I love LV!

ive been laughing out loud for the past hour reading this blog. i just want to confess one thing; ive always hated louis vuittons, i think theyre brainless and cheap, in general. though, recently ive gotten an urge to buy a speedy 30, so i did. i think it all depends how you wear it...mix and match the class and the trash= right on.

This bag is a little gaudy with the chain I agree but the Speedy silver is perfect!

Not even a fashionless, tranny with no self respect would buy that hideous bag, its nothing better than an expensive garbage bag in my opinion.

I just purchased the Dentelle Speedy with the gold embroidery. Although I am admitted devotee of the classic monogram and agree it shouldn't be messed with, this bag, in my opinion, is an exception. It is a blend of the classic with a touch of whimisical femininity. I love it and have received many compliments!

I could see adoring this bag if it had just a creamy colored fabric in the background but the LV monogram is busy enough. It's just too much.

Kelly I think you saved my wallet. I was going to purchase a LV bag, only because it was popular around my way. But deep down inside, I was never crazy about them like I am the 2.55 Chanel classic flap. Thank you for giving me an honest prospective and really getting into things that I enjoy and not what some silly fashion magazine tells me I need to buy.
really appreciate it! ☺
