The Paris shows are always highly anticipated by us and the Hermes Fall 2007 show did not disappoint. JPG showed luxurious and supple leather coats (full length crocodile coat anyone?) with sumptious cashmere separates and rich tweedy suits, all Hermes classics elegantly interpreted by Gaultier. As for bags, remember the muff clutch in Milan from Prada? The look continues on the Paris runways (and yes, the French did it better), I must say after running around New York today with bone chilling 5 below wind nipping at my face and hands, these crocodile kelly muffs look quite warm and inviting.
Craig from Hermes called me about a 35cm Graphite crocodile birkin and as much as I adore the color, I am going to hold out for a 30cm or 25cm. I can not stand the sight of petite women (especially if they’re 5′ tall and 97 lbs like me) lugging around bags bigger than they are. We talk about age appropriate bags all the time but size appropriateness is also important. Check out the fabulous black croc Kelly shown on the runway, it looks ladylike and elegant, the way Hermes bags are meant to be.

I love way Jean Paul Gaultier is giving an edge to the classic Hermes looks! This collection maintains that Hermes signature Parisienne Voyageur look and luscious leather, while the way in which he uses exotic make the looks so cool. He’s so good at reinventing the classical Hermes elegance while giving us glimpses of Gaultier in pieces like leather trench and croc jacket. I just love it.
Oh wow, those two outfits in the second and third pics are just outrageously elegant, I think I am in love!!! This collection is a great example of what Hermes is all about, gosh, just fantastic. And Gemma and Jessica are so perfect for the Hermes look.

I am so happy that you are talking about size appropriate bags. Scale is so important and if you want to look lady-like, it’s impossible if the bag you’re toting is an over-sized monstrosity! Good for you for holding out for the right size–you will look fantastic with the smaller Hermes bag.

I love muffs. They are just great and so warm. I like how they look made with the leather. A little matchy with the jacket, but a perfect and functional bag.
What height/ weight would you say can carry/pull off a 35cm best? I am 5 foot 7, 130 lbs. I want to get a croc Birkin eventually, but I am unsure of size.
