Chanel Fall 2007

The Kaiser showed another stellar collection for Chanel Fall 2007. Classic tweeds were updated in checks and stripes and tartan in his hands looked fresh and chic. I love the direction he's taken Chanel Ready to Wear the last two seasons, it's a younger look that apeals to my age group, not old enough to dress like my grandmother but not young enough to dress like a teenager. The classic Chanel 2.55 bag was re-worked in bright hues and lux skins, not the splash we'd hoped for but we'll take boring basic anyday over insanely hideous. I love the white crocodile chain bag and shiny black croc clutch, very modern yet very Chanel.

The fringe in petite chain links is a fun and punky look but a bit too trendy for our taste. That's not to say it won't cause a frenzy amongst the annoying pack of stars who think it's okay to flash the paparazzi while pantyless as long as they're toting a Chanel bag.

  • Gorgeous. Who doesn't love Chanel?

  • Love Chanel and love the crocodile 2.55 bags!

  • Listen up and pay attention Mr. Jacobs... that is what a handbag is supposed to look like.

  • I read that those reissues are actually only stitched to look like croc? Can anyone confirm this or am I lying?

  • How much should i expect to pay for a 2.55 chanel bag?

  • Hi shoppingnerd,

I read the same about the stitched croc re-issue but am waiting confirmation from the Chanel pr director of US operations. Will let you know when I hear back!

  • Gorgeous gorgeous!

Nice to see someone has their head screwed on when it comes to designing bags!

  • To Erin Tawley,

A 2.55 Medium sized Chanel, in Lambskin (which is the most luxurious) is about US$1,895, last time I checked. The medium size is the most popular one, so is the lambskin version. You can get the 2.55 cheaper in a calfskin version, and the cheapest version I think is the caviar leather version.

Kinda steep for a medium sized bag, but the entire thing is in leather (the lining, the flaps, everything is in leather and not in fabric), and under the main flap (the first you open) is another flap for another compartment. So, it's really a lot of leather used in one bag! You probably know this already, but for the sake of those who don't, well, there's the low-down.

    :)

Oh, and yes, Karl Lagerfeld is GENIUS!

  • those bags are def not croc skin, they're satin. it says on Style.com
