I am still waiting patiently for my Montaigne bag in Magnolia but in the meantime, I am drooling over the latest from Bottega Veneta's spring line. This lilac lovely caught my eye and I have not been able to look away, what a gorgeous and subtle color! Lilac is the urbanite's answer to pink and is a great neutral color to add to your bag wardrobe. It avoids looking ashen thanks to the vibrant pink patent woven trim and soft golden brass hardware. I've always liked the style of chains but not the feel of it on my shoulders so the shoulder rests are a great way to get the look without the pain. Unfortunately I can not justify two Bottega pink bags in one season so this will not join my collection but it is a must have if you love pastel shades but don't want to look like a 5 year old! $2,760 at net-a-porter.

  • I love pink but I am quite a bit older than you Bag Snob so the pink Montaigne is not appropriate, this bag is perfect. Lilac is a good alternative to pink for older woman as well as urbanites.

  • Wow. This is really gorgeous.. The leather, the hardware, the colour. Classy and looks really expensive. 10Thumbs up.

  • My mother would kill for this bag!

  • I have the Cocker in this colour, which is known as Poudre in Bottega speak. It is like dusty pink with a hint of lilac. Not only it is THE perfect pink ever, it is a fabulous neutral that would transcend seasons.

  • I went to the Bottega Veneta boutique in Manila (it was barely the size of my walk-in closet! the shop is soooooo small!) and I saw this bag and it was so soft and it was every bit of a dream as Bagsnob described it. The funny thing is, its being sold for 300,000 pesos (about US$6,000)! Why is it so expensive in Manila?! I could go to Venice using First Class, buy the bag, return the next day and the total for my expenditures would still probably be cheaper! Hmmmm...maybe it's time for an italian holiday? For that amount, I'd rather buy an Hermes Birkin!
