LVMH to buy Aston Martin

My husband surprised me with a Vantage Volante DB-7 Aston Martin convertible in shimmering pacific ocean blue that sparkled in the sun when we got engaged 7 years ago (how else was he going to lure me to Texas from LA?). It had seats made of cream colored Connolly leather trimmed with blue and it was magnificent! Connolly leather is the best in the world, the smell is incredible and it really is soft as buttah, I want to make bags with it! There was a red button to start the car (like an airplane!) and even when pushed over 90 miles/hour, it was the smoothest ride you'll ever take. I sold it when I became pregnant but I will get another one the minute my son is out of his car seat. It is my favorite car in the world, thus, the news of LVMH's impending purchase of Aston Martin is a scary thought to me. Are they going to replace the lush Conolly leather with vinyl seats covered in the LV logo?

  • That is an amazing story! What color will you get next?

  • I was thinking the same thing. I am also AM owner and I was thinking of getting another ...However I hope LV does not go tacky on us and tag the beautiful AM's with their vinyl and logos..

P.S. Your site is amazing :)

  • My husband races (mostly for fun) and this had been in the works for a while. Also, I have actually seen cars with upholstery that was done in the LV and Gucci logos...beyond scary!

  • man, i need your husband to talk to my husband!!! LOL :)

  • I've seen them too. On Pimp My Ride.... Brook , London

  • we were previous owners of a couple of astons (DB7 and DB9 - and loving it!) and now that i'm pregnant with our first baby, we're naming our first baby boy, ASTON! how tacky is that? lol!

  • There is nothing more tacky than a LV logo. Let's keep that on planners and iPod holders.

  • I'm so sick of this LV bashing, the only reason you guys hate it is because of the fakes. Who said just because LV own a company they're going to push they're designers on it? They own a Whiskey line and I don't see LV logos on the bottles. GET OVER IT.
