My heart fluttered when I saw the Jeanne bag from Dior on the runway back in October and I couldn't wait for Spring to arrive to get my hands on one of these babies. So imagine my excitement when I saw this on eLuxury this morning! Though the temperature outside is in the 20's, I can definitely smell Spring in the air, even if it's only in blogosphere. This is one of the most chic bags this season and I'd been planning to add it to my collection since it's debut. A ladylike silhouette with a rock and roll twist, it's got my name stamped all over it. I love the chain details and whipstitching, but the best part is the lack of logo!!! The Jeanne bag is the best out of the House of Dior in years and destined to be one of it's all time classics. So now I face major bag dilemma, what to treat myself with for Valentines day? The sumptious Jeanne bag in pale nubuck leather or aged Goatskin? The nubuck is creamy and gorgeous but will be hard to maintain, the aged goatskin is funkier, younger, and easier to maintain... decisions decisions!!! Dior Jeanne $2,400 at eLuxury- grab one now (delivery in April), it's sure to sell out soon!!!

  • I personally like the aged goatskin for the variation in colors. Do you know if the bag is named after anyone specific?? Just in case you were on the edge of your seat, I was offered the job this afternoon!! Brook , London

  • Congrats Brook!!!!!!

    xoxo

  • I like the nubuck one. Very pretty!

  • I'm w/ Brook, I prefer the aged goatskin--the bag looks like it has more character in the goatskin. Just my 2 cents

  • Nubuck. The aged goatskin looks a little too leprous for my tastes.

  • I like the goatskin, but I think the Nubuck will be more classic. I think you just bought the Bottega which is pink so maybe the Nubuck is better for you.

    Congrats to Brook!

  • I was planning on the Dior Jeanne and Bottega Montaigne as my main Spring bags, but sadly, the pink Montaigne has not arrived. They had to re-dye the entire batch as they were not satisfied with the pink-ness of the bag. However, I was promised I'd be one of the 33 recipients of the limited edition bag :)

  • Nubuck! But both are gorgeous...

  • I'm all about the nubuck Jeanne bag!!!

  • Oh I am so sorry... but I am sure your bag will be home soon =)

    Happy V Day!

  • I prefer the nubuck from the photo, but I haven't seen the goatskin bag in person - from the photo however, it does look a little 'leprous', lol! Actually it looks like one of those awful faded florals you see on old peoples' couches. I do like the idea of aged goatskin for a bag though.

  • Ooooh, Bagsnob, this style is chic and pretty all at once. And the colours! I feel your angst - I would be torn too.

There's no seasonal weather in Singapore, but who cares, for the coming S/S season, I would be toting around the Bottega Cocker in dusty pink.

  • Haha! Leprous!?!? But, think about what a great deterrent it could be to potential bag snatchers! No one would even dream of knicking your bag for fear their fingers may fall off. Thanks for all of your good wishes, my fellow bag snobs! It was truly a Valentine's Day miracle! I also heard from my best friend from high school, who I hadn't spoken with since like 1996 when I tore out of Small Town, Ohio. Good times all round! Brook , London

  • The nubuck one. Its so pretty....

  • Love the nubuck. Why's it hard to maintain?

  • Hi Gilda,
Nubuck is similar to suede which makes it harder to maintain than leather when it comes to stains. I've had cream nubuck pick up the color of my jeans before and it was difficult to remove!

I love everyone's suggestion but I think I am going to wait for the grey leather/suede combination that's on order from Dior....

    Thanks all!
    xoxo

  • Tina, is the gray one you mentioned shown on the Dior runway? The bottom right picture in your Dior Spring '07 post in Oct '06?

I find it the most classic - love the neutral colour

  • there will be a trunk show at Saks Fifth Avenue for the exotic skins, featuring the Jeanne bags!

  • i vote for the nubuck, as i myself just purchased one, and it is even more beautiful in person!
