Since I am the practical Bag Snob, here is a bag for the girl who just needs to get some stuff done when she goes out. BFF's Mischa and Nicole are inseparable these days. Seen here in matching skinny jeans and flowy tops, Nicole is carrying yet another version of the Balenciaga motorcycle bag she so adores, she is also looking a lot healthier thanks to the 10 pounds she gained recently. Mischa is sporting the ultra popular Bay bag from Chloe. Besides looking like Jack next to the Beanstalk and having dry ends in need of trim and deep conditioning, how do you think these junior high style icons look? Snob or Slob?

Lanvin Kansas Tote in Gold metallic $2,030
My friend, the fabulous Shoe Goddess, and I are pining over Lanvin metallic bags this season. We've narrowed it down to the metallic Maxi Miss (which Kelly really wants in white) and the Lanvin Kansas tote. I am partial to the Kansas tote even though the Maxi Miss is more my style but the Kansas just looks so comfortable and casually chic! All the other Lanvin bags I've been considering have chain straps and the thought of chains, beautiful or not, on my bare shoulders in the summer is a bit excruciating. I love how simple this tote is, but it's not without style. Little details like the ruched top and silver nikel hardware against the supple metallic leather really funks it up. This is a great bag for me to travel with, the handles slip over the shoulder and leave both my hands free to schlep my son and his gazillions of travel toys around. The simple and ladylike attempt from Alessandro Dell'Aqua for Fall 07 is a complete departure from the Barbarella-esque mirrored bags he showed last year and it should be better received with the lunch and social crowd who can actually afford his bags rather than the punkster trendoids he likes to design for. I was not as impressed with his ready to wear though. While Versace and Herve Leger made bondage sexy in the '80s, Dell'Aqua's interpretation look more like mental patients about to be committed.

I am not going to make any comments on these heinously hairy Fendi bags. You have eyes and can see for yourself that the Kaiser has become certifiable.

I've been reading your blog religiously and absolutely LOVE it. It made the process of selecting the most suitable and stylish bags so much easier for me! As a matter of fact, I need to ask for your help and advice. I desperately need a perfect white bag and I'm in love with Givenchy Maxi Clarabelle in white. However, it's almost EUR 1,600 and the maximum I can do right now is about USD 1000. Could you be so kind and suggest any possible alternatives for me for that price range? Muff is the new clutch at Prada for Fall 2007 and "weird" is the perfect description of this collection. I like the bow detail on the Prada muff/clutch but am a bit creeped out by some of the models' seemingly missing hands (although some women might enjoy hiding their aging hands). It is a creative way to re-design the classic clutch but most of these are just too masculine for my taste. Would make a great gift for the man in your life!

I was at a Bottega Veneta boutique the other day looking at the dizzyingly array of amazing Spring bags when I happened upon this blush lizard clutch and quite literally dropped to my knees, thankful that my birthday is this Friday. I looked sweetly up at my husband with the most adoring eyes I could muster and to my horror, followed by gut wrenching depression, he laughed at me and then shook his head no!!! How dare he laugh at and then deny me after I made a little baby girl for him from scratch? I can easily buy this bag myself, I'd like to see him try to make his own babies =) The ultra fem blush color and lady-like style perfectly matched with the chunky linked hardware demonstrates the design rigor we've come to expect from Tomas Maier. His genius continues to infatuate us. The lizard has so much texture but unlike python, it is smooth which is especially important for a clutch so that you don't mess up the skin with the constant handling. I should probably practice what we preach and save for a Birkin instead, $3970 is hard to justify for a clutch when the price is only one bag away from a 32 Togo.
