For your Sunday reading pleasure... Our favorite fashion writer/prize winning novelist, Linda Grant, wrote a fantastic article on Anya Hindmarch for UK's Telegraph. You Bag Snobs out there will really enjoy it! By the way, notice my pale gold Alessandra bag on the right side of the photo. I can not tell you how much I am enjoying this bag. It has taken the place of my Chanel 2.55 this season (it's also more comfortable as Anya thoughtfully wrapped a piece of leather around the chains) and I get stopped everywhere by women who covet it!

Anya is doing a black patent Alessandra for Autumn which I saw when I interviewed her.
OMG! I will need the Alessandra in black patent as well even though I have the Carker in black patent already. I am totally obsessed with Anya bags!
As you said, the woman who carries Anya is one of Grace, Poise, and Good manners, traits that all women should strive for.

Linda, I love the article!
Carker is the best for the office - you can put your laptop, huge pile of documents, cosmetic bag, wallet, etc and it still keeps the shape.
I have just visited AH page and there are two bags that I like for the coming season - Alessandra and Marfie. One of them will be my next bag.
I think the secret of Anya Hindmarch bags is that they are bags for women designed by a women. So she knows exactly what we all need.
With kind regards
Monika
There are even more bags to come because the two I ordered from the Spring collection at the preview aren't on the site yet: a cream patent top handle and a silver woven leather shoulder bag.
But I think the coming Autumn collection, which I saw, is absolutely sensational.
The AH site has changed very recently(yesterday, dwo days ago?) and there are not all the bags on yet - Marfie, the one that I like can be seen in the brochure in the "Nude and Natural" section. I hope they will update the site soon so I will be able to see all its details.
Best regards
Monika
PS. In my previous comment I meant: bags for women designed by a woman, (not women).
AH is mos def one of THE bag designers of the moment. Here's to good ol' British design!!! Shame she was in the Telegraph and not The Times but I'm a bit partial towards the latter after all.
Update : I have gotten the Alessandra - in beige calf leather (taken the middle road between the haircalf and the metallic). And Bagsnob, you're right, it's even more fab in person! The bag is thoughtfully designed (read functional) and IT is the ultimate class with an edge (just like us bagsnobs).
Thank you for the article. Anya is absolutely my favourite - ever since my first picture bag.
Keep up the excellent blog. So glad (and proud) to hear you girls have re-join the realm of us working gals supporting our own bag obsession. Well done!
Great article! I just got the cream Carker about a month ago from Net-A-Porter and I absolutely love it...what a classic bag and so well-made! I just noticed in the online Spring/Summer catalog on Anya Hindmarch's website that there's turquoise/robin's egg blue-colored Carker, oh my!! That took my breath away! I love so many of her bags...better start saving up for another one!
Ladies, you are all right about AH bags. I searched high and low for the ultimate handbag and found it when I came upon the Carker in cream. It is stunning and functional!I ordered and received the Alessandra in the metallic llight brushed gold from the L.A. store (Ashley is great!). It is an amazing bag! I debated about getting the stone calf color, but went with the metallic because I have the cream Carker. Ladies, I am sure you all have the best fashion sense and I have a question. Do you think the metallic Alessandra is functional enough to be worn with just about anything and dressed up or down??? Thanks for your advice!
