Lanvin Maxi-Miss

lanvinmaximiss.jpg

This Lanvin is from their resort collection and it is like they are directly responding to my plea. Just last week I was searching high and low for a white bag for Spring/Summer, I had long conversations with Tina about this and it was decided that I should wait for the right bag to come along. And what happened today? I open the Barney's catalogue and there she was in all her glory calling out to me saying, "Here I am!!". This is what I've been searching for, minimalist but design detailed and a Lanvin, how can you go wrong? I'm not giving specific details about where to buy the bag until I get mine (although I did already give it away but you'll have to do the leg work in finding exactly where one is). $1590 at ???.

Chanel Shoulder Pouch Bag

chanelshoulderpouch.jpg
I remember receiving my first Chanel bag when I was 21 years old, it was the classic 2.55 in black lambskin with gold chain link and I felt so grown up whenever I used it. Looking back at college photos however, I looked like a little girl using her mother's bag (and gorgeous as the bag was, I looked really silly carrying it. Kelly was into fanny packs- a word that is not even in my bag vocab and shouldn't have been in hers but at least she looked age appropriate- I should scan that photo to give you some laughs). Now had this Chanel shoulder pouch been available back then, my bag would have been as hip and young as my wardrobe! I love everything about this bag, the aged calfskin, the cute little ruffled pouch in front and the soft shape(without being too slouchy). The signature Chanel chains are there but in a youthful gun metal color and with a leather shoulder rest so you don't get those painful marks on your shoulder. This is truly one of the most adorable Chanel bags ever made and perfect for the girl who loves to glam up a classic with a bit of street edge! This has been out for a while so you'll need to do some serious sleuthing to find it. Call Alexis at Chanel for availablity 214-520-1055 $1,805 (920 pounds)

Prada Spring Collection

pradafringead.jpg

I remember those days when Prada held for me this fantasy and longing that motivated all my financial endeavors. Tina and I would walk into a Prada boutique to look at the new collection and like Scarlett O’Hara we vowed if we had to lie, cheat and steal, we would buy every single bag Prada ever made. * End of flashback * The current reality: there is absolutely nothing from the spring collection I would honestly pay even a small amount of money for. This mad cowboy fringe is not something I would get instead of a Bottega or Chanel. Now that’s just crazy talk. Did Miuccia and Michael Kors go on a City Slicker adventure together? WTF? It’s confusing. Is scary and hairy the new rage??

Elie Saab for the Oscars

Elie Saab's Spring Couture Collection is unbelievably glamorous and he’s got celebrities lined up to wear his gowns for the big show so for some mindless fun and entertainment here is a look at who might wear what for the Oscars. Not that I am trying to take over Andre Talley Leon’s job but these are my picks for the gowns I love.

This just screams Elizabeth Hurley. The color, the beaded waist and the flared out detail is just so her. She has the perfect body for this gown with her small waist and long legs.

This super cute dress with attitude is definitely for Reese Witherspoon. It is no time for her play conservative these days, this look exudes confidence and says, "I am having fun being single!!"

Dear Bag Snob, Please Help!

>black anthracite ysl muse tote.jpgDear Bag Snob (or Bag Snob readers)-
Normally I would go to friends for advice, but none of my friends are into fashion as much as I am. Anyway I need a new bag, something light that I can literally throw around when I run errands etc... The bags that I like the most are all older bags. Normally I would get a new bag (new for the season), but I just want something that I really like and will use a lot. I do not care if it is not a brand new design.

So I have narrowed it down:
balencigahobo.jpgBalenciaga Hobo (similar to the played out Motorcycle Le Dix but hobo shape) in Olive Green. Love the color and it is very light.

miumiucoffer07.jpgMiu Miu Coffer bag (on your top 10 list), in brown or white leather.

YSL reversible bag. Large size and black/silver color. Please help!!!

Chloe Double Zip Paddington

paddingtondoublezip.jpgpaddingtondoublezip2.jpg
chloedetail.jpgHow many more styles can they stretch the Paddington before it's popularity wears off? I was a fan of the original and have not bought into the tote or other Paddington styles but I have to say, this double zipped version is really cute. I like that the front flap with the heavy hardware is gone and they made the lock smaller (but I'd still remove it before using unless you have vertebraes made of steel). It's also a couple of inches smaller in width than the original which will be good for my petite frame. The slouchy silhouette has been modernized in tune with the season's cleaner lines but the soft leather and gorgeous stitching and detailing remain. As for the delightfully elegant color they named "Mouse", well, let's just say it's anything but mousy. We predict that Chloe loyalists will be jumpin' all over the latest incarnation of the phenomenally popular Paddington! $1,755 at Net-a-Porter.

Anya Hindmarch Interview in UK Telegraph

anyaarticle.jpgFor your Sunday reading pleasure... Our favorite fashion writer/prize winning novelist, Linda Grant, wrote a fantastic article on Anya Hindmarch for UK's Telegraph. You Bag Snobs out there will really enjoy it! By the way, notice my pale gold Alessandra bag on the right side of the photo. I can not tell you how much I am enjoying this bag. It has taken the place of my Chanel 2.55 this season (it's also more comfortable as Anya thoughtfully wrapped a piece of leather around the chains) and I get stopped everywhere by women who covet it!

Bottega Veneta Montaigne Bag (update)

(Pre-order yours today at Bottegaveneta.com!!!)
bottegamontaignemagnolia.jpgThe Montaigne bag in Magnolia (Left,$1,995) is available for pre-order on the Bottega Veneta website! I saw it in another color at the boutique and it is divine. The size is not too big and it is very light, the handles fit comfortably on the shoulder and the leather, the fabulously lush Bottega leather is soooooooo soft. I can't wait to get it! (ONLY 33 AVAILABLE IN THE UNITED STATES and one is mine! Call Cory at Bottega to get on the list 214-265-0136)

bottegamontaigne.jpgThose of you willing to drop the dough on the gray crocodile version, it's by special order through Bottega boutiques worldwide ($16,000). I will not be getting it, the only croc on my list right now is the Hermes crocodile birkin in graphite (a gorgeous steel gray). I am saving my Bag Snob earnings to buy it so it will be really special. Kelly and I have actually decided to ONLY purchase bags with money we earn from Bag Snob, we even got a "Bag Snob AMEX" for that sole purpose! Our husbands are so glad we have found a way to support our bag obsession! :)
