Dior Homme - I love that Hedi Slimane is designing chic manbags, why should women get to have all the fun? If you remove the tassle, my husband would actually use this duffle bag when he goes golfing, it has all the pockets he needs for golf balls, tees, and other golf essentials. $1315 at Dior Homme NYC, LA, and Las Vegas www.dior.com
The Nancy Gonzalez top handle bag in pearl croc is making me shiver with delight. Look at how the pearlized skin shimmers, it's sheer decadence! I know there are animal activists who read Bag Snob and are offended by our love of leather and furs but just look at this fabulous piece of skin, it's gorgeous! And the price is very reasonable for crocodile, $3,300 at Bergdorf Goodman.
We have a dozen Christmas parties to attend and will be needing a variety of clutches.
From left:
Kotur white python minaudiere. $450 at Bergdorf Goodman.

World renowned Author and Lifestyle expert Kimberly Schlegel Whitman is everything she appears to be and more. Beautiful, intelligent, sweet, humble, fun, and most importantly, the best kind of friend a girl could hope for! I should know, Kim is a close friend and confidante of mine (she gives excellent advice!). After graduating from SMU with honors, Kim embarked upon an entrepreneurial journey that led to a prosperous event planning and rental company and the publication of two wildly popular books. The Pleasure of Your Company and Dog Parties, with a third one, The Wedding Workbook, slated for release in January 2007.
Kim has appeared on CBS Early Show, Rachel Ray, Good Morning Texas and in national publications such as Vanity Fair, Elle, Vogue, Town and Country, and many many more! With so much on her plate you'd think she would not have time to do much else but she donates time to many charities and even started one of her own this year! LOLA (Love Our Little Animals) is aptly named for her little baby Lola, a Chihuahua she is rarely without. From fabulous fetes for 2,000 guests to intimate dinner parties for ten, she does it all with flair. So how to cultivate a sense of style and a life of elegance like Kim's? It's simple, read her books and follow the tips she shared with us!

This to me is comedic genius. What can you possibly wear with this without looking like you just fell on top of a harp seal? Look how big it is! It is 18" x 10"! It is mink with python trim, all good things, until you add crayola colored LV monograms to it and make it into a fanny pack. What a total waste of resources. I usually am not a Peta advocate but all I can think is, the poor little minks who started off so cute gave their lives for the sake of this fashion atrocity! So I guess it is not funny afterall. It's like, it's ok to eat meat cuz it's yummy but if you're going to ruin lamb chops with a jellybean and banana chutney, I'd rather just have a salad.
Net-a-porter's winter sale extravaganza kicks off with a bang. Check out these goodies at 40% off or more! Think of all the presents you can buy with the money you save!
Chloe Betty- We weren't crazy about this bag but it grew on us, especially at 40% off. Seriously, it has a young and hip vibe plus lots of pockets to stash all the gadgets that young girls need these days to stay in the loop. Like the pager that beeps when a compatible mate walks by, it's super popular in Japan and takes all the guessing out of dating so you have more time to shop and drink with your girlfriends! Was $1575 on sale for $945.
Milly Donegal Tweed Coat- We love Milly's line of urban chic clothes from designer Michelle Smith (the first American sent to Paris to work for Hermes by the way!) and the Donegal tweed coat is just what we need to keep warm while Christmas shopping. On sale for $418.
Marc Jacobs Capra- Just so you know, it's not all hate between us and Marc Jacobs. The love is still there even if it is not often. The Capra leather satchel in dark brown with interlacing tortoise shell and gold links is a great bag to carry to luncheons or out to dinner. We like the subtle ruching detail that looks of the moment but won't scream 'out of season' next spring. It's just a nice and pretty bag with a reasonable price tag at $810 from $1350.
Fendi Shearling lined leather coat- For the uber-snob who has everything (wait, that would be me! I hope my husband or at least his assistant is taking notes) this is the perfect gift. Fendi's ultra luxe leather coat is lined in chocolate brown shearling, yum! Was $7,200 now on sale for $4,320.
I spent the last two weeks in LA and I can not tell you how great it was to be home with my family and close circle of best friends! In addition to spending quality time with loved ones, I went to fantastic parties and restaurants, including the opening party of Skin and Bones- Parallel Practices in Fashion and Architecture- at the Museum of Contemporary Art in downtown LA.
This exhibition explores the common visual and intellectual principles that underlie both fashion and architecture. Both disciplines start with the human body and expand on ideas of space and movement, serving as outward expressions of personal, political, and cultural identity. Architects and fashion designers produce environments defined through spatial awareness--the structures they create are based on volume, function, proportion, and material. Presenting the work of international fashion designers and architects, the exhibition examines themes such as shelter, identity, tectonic strategies, creative process, and parallel stylistic tendencies including deconstruction and minimalism. The exhibition is curated by MOCA Curator of Architecture & Design Brooke Hodge and is accompanied by a fully illustrated catalogue.

The exhibit showcased contemporary architects alongside designers such as Olivier Theyskens (my new obsession, watch for him at Nina Ricci next Spring), Elber Albaz (my hero), Alexander McQueen, and Viktor and Rolf. In addition to expanding my knowledge of architecture, I got to rub shoulders with A list celebs such as Demi and Ashton, Debi Mazar, and Eva Mendez. The exhibition was beautifully presented as were all those in attendance.
After viewing the exhibit my friends and I hung out at the party, the bar was set up under a giant contemporary sculpture in the courtyard and kind of scared me as I was expecting it to drop on the bartender at any moment. But all was well and we drank the night away gazing the stars in la la land, literally.

Is Gucci knocking off Guess? Without looking at the logo and obviously without looking at the quality, you would think that the Gucci bag was more like a Guess bag based on the style, right? I think you're in trouble when you start making bags that look more like the labels that are knocking you off in the first place. So is this quid pro quo? By knocking them off back? Guess bag is $75, Gucci is $830.
Too busy shopping to surf the web? Here's this week's choice reads for those with a hectic schedule.

Fab Sugar finds heather grey to be hip and versatile.

Wishing Fish has the perfect stocking stuffer for fellow Bag Snobs. A light for the inside of your bag! Why didn't someone think of this sooner? Well, with the big bag trend, you will definitely need one of these if you're ever going to find your keys.

There is a good article in the Telegraph about what you should consider keeping in your closet for future resale as vintage. This is especially important for the avant-garde gals because it is the outrageous that stand the test of time in the vintage market. I suppose that makes sense, my black Prada sweaters will not be so exciting in 20 years but how I wish I didn't get rid of my purple Thierry Mugler jacket with the giant pointed Joker like collars! Apparently that is hot commodities these days! Or my Versace print denim jacket. It makes me laugh just to think about it. I might have to rummage through my parent's house to see what I can salvage. As for bags, you've heard this from us before - buy the classics and spend a few extra bucks on Chanel and Hermes. They will only increase in value over time. Remember the Cristobal Balenciaga inspired Edition bag Nicolas Ghesquiere did for Balenciaga? That for sure is a collectors item. Another for sure vintage worthy bag is this Pierre Hardy. Spend wisely and you will be making money!
