Nuti Ostrich Clutch

| Leave Comment

nuticlutch.jpg

This Nuti clutch in ostrich is absolutely to die for! Ostrich is big these days, it is taking over croc and we are so loving it!! The skin is so much softer and the texture makes for that tonal interest you don't get with other skins. This clutch is sheer perfection from the signature ruthium ring, the fabulous shape, the sublime detail of every stitch to the baby soft suede lining that makes you want to crawl inside and take a nap. We love clutches for day and this is THE greatest all day clutch out there. Although great for formal occassions as well, it is big enough for daytime essentials like wallet, phone and cosmetics. Sometimes, it is so liberating to be free of your 10 pound bag. Measures 10" w X 5 1/2 L x 2" deep and comes with a detachable shoulder strap. Available at LuxCouture for $1225.

Derek Lam Bags

Left: Candida bag in olive leather Right: Consuelo bag with crocodile detail

One of my favorite designers, Derek Lam, is on a roll lately! First the announcement that he's been named Creative Director at Tod's and now a line of to die for bags. His latest efforts (Candida, Costanza, and Consuelo), in croc or leather, are smokin' hot bags that will send bag lovers into a frenzy when they appears in stores. Like his ever so popular dresses, these are basic bags with a twist. An unexpected detail like crocodile flap on a simple bag such as the Consuelo is quiet luxury at it's best. Having a sister with a busy lifestyle who constantly reminds him of the needs of the modern woman, Derek really hit the mark with the Candida. We'd use this as our "lifestyle" bag for days that require us to lug around lots of stuff, we love the different zippered compartments for stashing our goodies for either travel or pilates class.

Costanza bags in tan and green patent leather

The Costanza bag has "it" bag stamped all over it, this is something I would carry to lunch with the girls or to dinner. I love the modern structured shape with contrasting patent leather and barrel shaped lock. The emerald green one is just the kick of color I want come spring!

Meli Melo London Bag

Meli Melo's limited edition bag is creating quite a stir in London. It is a pink metallic tote lined with printed phone numbers for important hot spots around town, like spas, restaurants, salons and even the dry cleaner. We love this idea! Wouldn't it be great if you could customized it with your own set of must have numbers? But they are coming out with Paris, New York and Milan editions soon. Margherita Missoni, Anna Wintour, Sienna Miller, and Elizabeth Saltzman (editor of Vanity Fair) have all been seen using it, although I can't totally picture Anna Wintour with this bag. The concept is great but the bag itself is just a giant utilitarian tote and although we love pink and we love metallic, this combo just somehow seems a little much. £450 (approximately $885 USD) by special order through Meli Melo.

I love this story from TMZ about Scout Willis (Demi and Bruce's daughter) working at Marc by Marc Jacobs in LA. Not that I care she is rich and is working, what's ridiculous is that she has the resources for a better wardrobe yet she's wearing this hobo inspired outfit. All I'm saying is, you couldn't show up to work at Chanel looking like this.scoutwillis.jpg

One of our favorite bag designers is once again making us weak in the knees with this amazing elegant and ladylike calf hair chain bag. I love the combination of the chain and leather handle, it makes it less bulky and easier to carry. We've all had to deal with the annoying chain slipping off our shoulders! The leather detail along the center with the hardware makes this bag absolutely perfect. You can't go wrong with this bag, it just says to the world, "I am a classic beauty!". Net-a-Porter for $1125.

Nancy Gonzalez Road kill

nancygonzalesroadkill.jpgAre there a lot of dead skunks on the streets of Colombia? I am guessing Nancy Gonzalez was running out of crocodile skin so she decided to dangle carcasses of road kill on her bags. Maybe she should consider other alternatives such as python, lizard, or lambskin. Not as exciting as crocodile but much more attractive than this mess. $4,800 at Bergdorf Goodman. As if!

Lanvin New York Bag

lanvinnewyorkbag.jpgFor the true urbanite who doesn't care about the latest "it" bag but celebrates her own individual style, Lanvin's New York bag is the answer. A unique take on the wristlet bag with a harder edge and double handles for versality, this is a bag that will reach cult status the minute it hits the streets. There is also a detachable leather strap that you can use to hang on the back of your chair at lunch or to strap it on to your lifestyle gym bag. However you carry it, you can be sure you will set tongues wagging. At Barney's or Lanvin.com .
