Our New Look

It has been over a year since we started Bag Snob and it is truly amazing how much has happened since. So, it is fitting that we changed our look! We all need an update once in a while and Bag Snob is certainly no exception. We love the new polished and cleaner look, thanks to the sweeties at Outsight Interactive. They were amazingly patient with our constant changing of minds. We didn't realize how much work goes into designing a website so we really want to extend our thanks and appreciation to Jon, Denise and especially to my special honey, Rich, for all his hard work keeping Bag Snob running on a daily basis. Without him, we would still be just 2 girls talking about bags on the phone =)

(Note from Tina: Rich is Kelly's hubby, her special honey who helps us run Bag Snob. My honey is my hubby David, he has many guy friends who read Bag Snob-you know who you are- so don't get confused or call David with crazy stories. And Kelly is right, we would not be here without Rich! :)

The SUV of Bags

lvsuhali.jpg

You think the Muse or the Chanel trash bag is ridiculously big? Well then you haven't seen the Grande Louis Vuitton Suhali tote. This is not only 19" x 14.3", it is also goat skin so you can just imagine how heavy it is. At first I thought this was some sort of luggage but oh no, it is a regular bag. I mean, say you do need a bag this size for all your stuff, the problem is once you fill it how do you pick it up? I tried picking it up empty (except for the tissue stuffing) and my shoulders immediately started shouting obscenities at me. Seriously, this bag is the size of my refrigerator door. At eLuxury for $3200.

Thanks,
Melanie

Chanel 2.55 in white patent leather

audreywhite.jpgHi Melanie!
I just bought the most fabulous white patent Chanel 2.55 bag with gunmetal hardware yesterday at Chanel in Highland Park. It's from the resort collection and just arrived in boutiques this week. It is the perfect shade of creamy white and will be my constant accessory in Vail this month. Quantities are limited so call your Chanel boutique now! There is also a pair of matching quilted cork platforms in white or black patent that is to die for. I love the '60s mod vibe of white patent leather, think Audrey Hepburn driving her little convertible in "Two for the Road" with her white glasses and matching white patent accessories, tres chic!

Love,
Bag Snob

Fendi B.Mix Silver bag

Not that we aspire to match the holiday decor at Neiman Marcus but we just can't get enough of metallic! We're especially into silver, a glamorous alternative to your basic neutral shades of beige or gray and a classic that will last for years. Andre Leon Talley told me one of his favorite bags off the Spring runways was this Fendi B.Mix shopper tote and I absolutely agree! A reminder of simpler days at Fendi when a bag was about exquisite handstitched Italian workmanship on gorgeous leather instead of obnoxious giant buckles. Available at Fendi Boutiques worldwide. brooke

I just received this email about a friend of a friend who is very sick and in need of a life saving transplant but has not been able to find a match. Please read her email and help if you can. I met Brooke briefly last June at a birthday luncheon and found her to be a sweet and beautiful women, 20 minutes of your time may save a soul.
Gratefully yours, The Bag Snob

LETTER FROM BROOKE

DEAR LOVED ONES, FRIENDS, AND FRIENDS OF FRIENDS,

This has been one of the hardest letters I have ever had to write. I am much more comfortable helping others than asking for myself, but I NEED YOUR HELP AND I NEED IT NOW.

Fabulous Ferragamo Sami

sami2.jpgSAMI.jpg
I saw this bag at Neiman Marcus today and stopped twice to admire it before realizing it was a Ferragamo! These photos do not do it justice, in person, it is the softest shade of nude in buttery kidskin and you just want to cuddle it. I love that it does not have the over done Ferragamo buckle but a tiny engraved plate on the front, so subtle that you have to really squint to see it. The straps are adjustable which is an important design element for petite girls like me. The ruching on the sides are held together by straps giving the traditional bowler bag a very feminine look. Cell phone, blackberry, and zippered compartments ensure that you stay organized all day long. I love what Ferragamo has been doing since the cute grandson, James, took over it's line of handbags and accessories. Like his grandfather who started the company 90 years ago in Hollywood as a 16 year old immigrant, James is handsome, talented, and a hit with Hollywood starlets! $1,190 at Neiman Marcus
