This bag should be free. When I buy a Marc Jacobs bag for $1,200, they should package it in this shopping bag and it shouldn't cost me any more than I've already spent. Like at a department store. But instead, this bag is $750!!!!! I don't care if it's leather, from afar you look like you are toting your stuff in a shopping bag. I know I save all my shopping bags for certain things like dry cleaning or a trip to the post office but would I spent $750 on a bag specifically for those errands? Do I seem like a moron? Cuz that's the only ones who will buy this. It comes in silver metallic which is slightly better, but only slightly. At eLuxury.

This is the fabulous younger cousin to the Birkin that you may not have to wait years for (though you should keep your name on the Birkin list cuz by the time you get it, you will finally be old enough to carry it). The Hermes Lindy is a stylish and super functional bag with double sided compartments so you can keep your stuff separate and organized. I love how it collapses in the center when empty but expands to hold all the essentials a girl needs to look gorgeous throughout the day. Available in leather or canvas with calfskin trim, this is THE bag I'm obsessing over for Spring (pink please, it will go with all of my Hello Kitty accessories). Just when I thought I couldn't love the House of Hermes more (though not so much that I'd name my son Hermes like that skanky has been Kelly Rutherford. Who is she you ask? Exactly) they delight me with a bag that will certainly earn a coveted place in my bag wardrobe. The Lindy is destined to sell out so call your local Hermes boutique quickly: Ask for Craig at Highland Park (214) 528-0197 or New York (212) 751 3181. Choose from size 30cm or 34 cm, prices range from $4300-$4800

Hi Bag Snob,
Great blog! I have been reading it as my bedtime reading everyday for the last two weeks, and drift to dreamland in a good mood indeed. I have a quick query. Like a previous reader, I'm looking for a black leather bag with gold or brass hardware for this Fall. But being quite petite, I don't want to look overpowered by a huge bag. I have been eyeing the Coffer, The Stam, The Muse, and The Paddington. My budget is around US$1,500.00 and I really want something with snob appeal, that will be sort of a classic, last me a while, and won't look totally last season. It also has to be something that will take me from day to night. What do you suggest? Is it too late to buy thePaddington?

Cole Haan's G-series suede tote is another example why belts should stay on your waist and off your bags. Belts were invented to hold up your pants, not to give shape to an ugly bag that has no hope of seeing the light of day on my arm EVER. As if the hideous wide belt is not offensive enough, it's made of fake croc that doesn't even try to look real. I am very disappointed in Cole Haan, we applauded them for their line of cheap and chic bags last season but in this case, cheap is definitely not chic (and it's actually not that cheap which makes it even more useless). $525 at Neiman Marcus.

At first glance the mirror bag and heels by Christian Louboutin seem like they belong on someone twirling on a pole (and by that I don't mean Fireman Bill) but the more I look at it, the more I like it. There is something very modern and fresh about the high gloss patent leather, it is futuristic glam without evoking alien sentiments. And yeah, I'm biased cuz I love Christian Louboutin but still, it's a fun bag that will get you lots of attention while dancing under a disco ball. Christian Louboutin boutique (212) 255-1910

This Carlos Falchi ostrich tote was made exclusively for Saks, only 25 exist! The square loose shape is so great, I love that it's just cute and simple to show off the luscious ostrich detail. The skin is so soft that it collapses against the body when on, making it both casual and elegant. The roomy interior is separated by a center zipper compartment for ease of organization and includes cell phone and other utility pockets. It's the best bag I've seen in a long time. I was at the trunk show so I was able to put in a custom order for this bag in a taupe-y beige called "mink". I am not much of a bright orange girl, although this color is striking and makes the bag very showy (in a good way). I love being able to have a one of a kind but more importantly, the mink will be easy to use and be one of those bags I can wear with anything to be insta-fab!! $2900 at Saks Fifth Avenue 212-753-4000.

The Bag Snob girls have friends in chic places and one of them, the "Party Snob", was at Vogue's 90th anniversary party in London last week and reports on the fab fete of the year:
The cream of fashionista London was at the Serpentine Gallery in Hyde Park last Wednesday night sipping Moet et Chandon and some amazing cocktails for the 90th birthday of Vogue magazine. Kate Moss and her paramour Pete Doherty came and went in a flash (they breezed in, went to the terrace for a cigarette and left). Alexandra Shulman, the editor, greeted in a short gold Sixties dress while Nigella Lawson, as ever, was in all black. Other guests included Thandie Newton, Yasmin LeBon, Lily Cole, Emilia Fox, Jemma Kidd, Jasper Conran, Giles Deacon, Matthew Williamson, Zandra Rhodes, Lord and Lady Rogers, Nicky Haslam, and the fashion tip of the night was Opaque Tights, even with cocktail dresses. So get down to Wolford and stock up now. (Wolford Velvet de luxe 66 provides maximum opaque-ness)
My fellow guest at the party made a telling observation about the London fashion crowd - how less groomed they were than Americans, there were fewer manicures, fewer professional blow-dries (though certainly we had been to hairdresser that day) and most of, all the absence of serious surgery. Sure there were nips and tucks and botox, but middle aged women looked like middle aged women, not wannabe bimbos. It was a room full of wonderfully fashionable people, with boobs and hips and wrinkles, and we drank our champagne from saucer-shaped glasses. How satisfyingly retro.
