Ferragamo goes Andes

How fascinating....what is this? Native Peruvian wall "art"? Like from the 70's? Like the kind you find in a rental ski cabin? Looks like someone at Ferragamo took a vacation to South America and decided to bring back souvenirs. I guess the old lady Ferragmao clients can always use this as a knitting bag. Small Black Nuvola Bag for $1290 and Large Nuvola for $1590 at Saks.

Jimmy Choo's Shiny Suede

I vaguely remember bashing Jimmy Choo bags a while back, probably Nicole Richie's fault but I have to say, this is not a bad looking bag. I love the color and the mix of suede and shiny calf leather - it strikes some kind of perfect balance of exuberance for me. Although, I can do without the bottom exterior zipper, it throws things off a bit and from a practical standpoint, what are you going to put in there? A pencil? Tampon? Eh, I can do without it.
Saks for $1895.

Carlos Falchi Croc

One way to get yourself a croc is to go with a lesser designer. You still get to boast about having a real croc without having to sell your new Lexus. We love the shape of this bag, it makes the croc so much more versatile for everyday use, the problem though is when you go cheap, you get the shit part of the croc, meaning the gross scary tail. This bag tries to incorporate it into the design which is admirable but in the end you still have a slithery tail hanging over the middle of your bag. The croc dilemma is a tough one, do you go cheap or do you take public transportation? You can always go the embossed way as we suggested with the very good looking Armani but real is real and croco is not. Saks for $4650

London Times

Hey, how 'bout it? We were featured in the London Times last week:

"The blog bagsnob.com is everything you would expect it to be from the name. Its alternately brutal and adoring approach is the kind that guarantees an avid readership. And brutal and slightly rude can be funny too. The BagSnob, for example, casts aside one $625 number: “I can find better bags in Chinatown or Mexico for a dollar." Miaow, as they say."

Looks like the Brits adore us =) We love them, too!! Wait, are we brutal and rude?

Stella McCartney

Stella McCartney has some great bags for Fall. This quilted Appaloosa bag is reminiscent of Chanel but it has a much younger feel for those of more recent births =) The chain is of course a big thing for fall and the color is a perfect all around camel, making it a great "only" bag purchase for the season (with the exception of sales and impulse buys of course).

The Boston bag is great because it is a classic design and a red patent bag is such an amazing look with toned down monochromatic pants and sweater. It makes life so much easier when you have a bag that does all the work for you. And for the vegetarian monks or maybe just budget conscious bag lovers, Stella has a really cool slouchy bucket hobo that is faux leather. Balenciaga Matelasse

Nicolas Ghesquiere is THE hottest designer of the season, flip through any fashion mag this month and you will see his tres adorable bubble dresses and bowler hats for Balenciaga's fall collection. We love the silhouette he created for fall, enough of hoochie mamas with halter tops and jeans! Viva glamour and dressing well! We're also quite pleased with his latest bag creations. These chic bowler style handbags will give the tired old motorcycle le dix bag a run for the money! We love the casually elegant quilted version, it's destined to be a classic, that is if Nicole or Lindsay doesn't ruin it. Call Balenciaga store in New York for details 212-279-4440.

Celine's Asymmetric Bag

Here is an interesting concept. I can't say that this Celine bag is the greatest looking, but I like the idea that it is asymmetric so that it tucks neatly under your arm and stays out of the way. Now this is an idea worthy of further investigation, you know, like design a good looking bag using this concept. I suppose the Dior Saddle bag is similar, but I said make a good looking bag. Or at least a good practical bag and not some gimmicky rodeo clown bag. Celine Asymmetic Bag $1550 at Net-a-Porter.

Edith Update, More Colors

Neiman Marcus has a new shipment of the Edith in Putty for $1275 and the large Chamois for $1720. I love the whisky for this bag but the chamois is so buttery it makes this structured bag a little softer. The putty is a great warm winter white but for this bag, it's not doing it for me. Get your's now if you want one because they are sure to sell out.
