Yes, we like to make fun of the Kaiser but his couture runway show at the Grand Palais in Paris was nothing short of genius. OK, so no bags were shown, but we give props when props are in order. The spiral staircase is what you would expect from Karl, over the top (indeed!). He made Coco proud by modernizing her asthetics, like showing the collection in go-go boots similar to the ones she wore in the 50's (yes, 50's not 60's). His collection was black and white and had all the classics you would expect from the House of Chanel. What we love are all the camellias and organdy and satin details he does so well to give that girly flair without looking like a birthday cake. What I wouldn't do to lay down $500K to update my wardrobe. Ahhh, there is nothing so fabulous as haute couture!!
